Adorable Quirky Hideaway BIG Private Enclosed Yard

Beware there is no dedicated work space, and there are signs everywhere about not using multiple electrical items at the same time. The sure feels like being in a plastic cabin. That being said, the yard is fantastic and if you plan on being outdoors most of the time you'll love it. It's really a pretty place, and I wanted to like it more.

Jason, thanks for the review. As much as we would love to have a dedicated workspace this unit is just not large enough to accommodate. And we realize that the charm of a 1920's craftsman can get lost in the electronic age but most folks find that not using a microwave with a hair dryer is small inconvenience for the charm, location and fantastic yard (which we have had folks say they used as a workspace...nothing like working outside under an umbrella on a picnic table!). Great communication and clear instructions. Overall decent space. Smaller than expected and some details were missing. There was dog hair all over the bed when we arrived (we don’t have a dog) and soap was missing from dispensers. Cute space overall and getting an early check in was very handy.

This is a super cute, clean, lovely old casita. It's tiny, but has everything you need for a single or couple. The fenced yard is lovely and private and my dogs really enjoyed it. It's rare to find an Airbnb with a dog yard like this. Aaron was very responsive when I had questions or requests. Highly recommended location and host.

Wonderful spot for 8 nights in San Diego! The yard was perfect for my pup to sunbathe and we could walk to so much. Space was comfortable for just me. Certainly room for 2nd. Host was responsive and helpful. Would stay again!

The host Aaron was super responsive and helpful. I would say that the space is much smaller than it looks. We had two adults and two small dogs and it was very tight. Also the area because of construction is very loud (which I understand is not his fault ) and parking on the street was difficult at times. The host was great

This place is one of the few locations in San Diego where you don’t really need a car. First of all it’s in Hillcrest which is a fun neighborhood with good nightlife. If you’re ok with walking, it’s also a pleasant stroll to Balboa Park, the zoo, Old Town, and even the Gaslamp. The host is very communicative and the place is private. It also has everything you need if you want to stay in for a quiet night.

Very cute and cozy house. Unfortunately when we checked in, the keypad was dead, the owner wasn't able to give us the correct combination to get to the emergency key. We had to sit outside and wait for 45 mins to an hour before a locksmith could get us in. Communication with the owner was fast and efficient though an the issue was solved as fast as possible. There was also lots of traffic with the house being right across from a covid testing site and lots of construction nearby. Overall a decent stay, but things could have gone smoother.

Specific notes for other dog owners: It was nice being in a back unit; our dogs didn’t bark at all because we were back off the street. The yard is fenced, but if you have a tiny dog they might fit through the pickets. (One of our dogs is ten pounds, and after a couple days he figured out that he could slip through.) My brother and sister-in-law live in town, and we will definitely stay here again.

This was the perfect little home for my husband and I to spend a week with our pets in San Diego. The cottage is small but it’s clean and comfy and has everything you need for your stay. Great area in Hillcrest within easy walking distance to so many shops and restaurants. Loved the fenced in yard and the grill for dinners at home. Easy, fast communication with the host. Great little cottage. Feels like a beach getaway. We loved how close it is to our favorite bakery and sushi and ramen restaurants. Easy to hop on the highway and get anywhere in town. And we really appreciated having a good sized yard for our dog. We'll definitely be back!

Well situated in a neighborhood that provides easy access to the city overall. The place is tiny, but it's comfortable and clean. The bed is very comfortable and the water pressure allowed us to take a few good showers. Instructions are thorough and communication is top notch.

We much enjoyed the very walkable Hillcrest neighborhood and all the vegan food available around us, the easy access to dog parks/beaches and to fantastic places as Old Town, Balboa Park, Little Italy, and near highways where you can quickly go to places as Ocean Beach, La Jolla, Coronado, etc. The host Aaron has been very prompt on fixing a couple things we encountered in our first day and sending a person to fix the next morning. We definitely recommend this stay.

Excellent and convenient space, especially if you’re visiting someone at UCSD hospital. Loved being able to cook, host friends and family, and sleep comfortably. Would definitely stay here again.

This unit is cute but much smaller than the pics portray. I would not recommend having more than 2 people here! The bed is comfy, the sofa bed is horrible. The place was clean other than a crusty pillow on the bed. Shower pressure was dreadful. We brought our dog and he loved the fenced in back yard. I’m always grateful for airbnbs that allow pets. The unit felt safe, the area was quiet, coffee is provided (always a plus), street parking was always available, and the host was very responsive.

Madeline thanks for the stay. Sorry for the pillow...my cleaners at this unit are usually very through but it happens. I will look into the water pressure and replacing the shower head. As far as space, we did not attempt to mislead but this is simply a 1BR urban guest house in San Diego (where the cost of real estate puts a premium on size). I will also check the sofa bed as this is the first complaint we have had about that. Happy the dog and coffee drinkers enjoyed the amenities.

Very cute, cozy little bungalow in a fantastic location. Perfect for exploring San Diego. Had all the necessary amenities and Aaron, the host, was extremely accomodating and responsive. The private grassy yard was perfect for our canine child!

Very cute little cottage and our puppy had a blast running around the fenced in yard. Lots of little touches went a long way to making it a home away from home. Don't forget to check out Bronx Pizza and Coppertop Donuts nearby which were highlights of the trip.

Location, location, location! This place has got it! An absolute recommend for anyone traveling with a pet/toddler. Having the enclosed yard was so nice for them to run around safely. Super cute space!! Highly recommend!

The space is quite and perfect for a couple. My pup loved having the outdoor space and we enjoyed the sunlight in the living room daily. This unit has everything you need. It’s a bit old, so be gentle on the windows, but otherwise it overall was great and Aaron was quick to respond - which I highly appreciated. Great location and quiet neighborhood street. Even with being located near the hospital- I wasn’t too disturbed

Traveling to San Diego for work, I wanted to stay nearby my old haunts and pretend I lived there for a few days ^_^ Aaron's place was perfect for that! It is walking distance to all of the best that Hillcrest has to offer, and a cheap uber to everything else. The house is adorable and well-appointed. While it definitely *can* fit 4 people, it is most comfortable with 1 or 2. I really appreciate the consideration of power outlet access - they have little side tables with outlets on them, so you don't have to reach behind the furniture. (However, a small note that there are no outlets in the bathroom, which was a small frustration for me getting ready.) The bed was comfortable, the kitchen is full-sized, and there are a lot of quality touches. Even though this home is very close to the hospital, I heard sirens maybe twice in the whole 4-night stay. Thanks for your hospitality, Aaron! I would highly recommend this place, and look into renting it again for my next SD trip.

We had a great time at Aaron's place over the Labor day weekend. Everything was in great condition, very clean and super nice. Being pet friendly was a huge plus and the yard was great for our dog. Communication was great and check in and out were super easy. We highly recommend Aaron's spot.
