Cute and quiet place. A little smaller than I expected but still very cozy. The kitchen has little counter space so it’s not ideal to cook but aside from that, I enjoyed my stay and the fenced yard is a huge plus.

Beware there is no dedicated work space, and there are signs everywhere about not using multiple electrical items at the same time. The sure feels like being in a plastic cabin. That being said, the yard is fantastic and if you plan on being outdoors most of the time you'll love it. It's really a pretty place, and I wanted to like it more.

Jason, thanks for the review. As much as we would love to have a dedicated workspace this unit is just not large enough to accommodate. And we realize that the charm of a 1920's craftsman can get lost in the electronic age but most folks find that not using a microwave with a hair dryer is small inconvenience for the charm, location and fantastic yard (which we have had folks say they used as a workspace...nothing like working outside under an umbrella on a picnic table!). Great communication and clear instructions. Overall decent space. Smaller than expected and some details were missing. There was dog hair all over the bed when we arrived (we don’t have a dog) and soap was missing from dispensers. Cute space overall and getting an early check in was very handy.

This is a super cute, clean, lovely old casita. It's tiny, but has everything you need for a single or couple. The fenced yard is lovely and private and my dogs really enjoyed it. It's rare to find an Airbnb with a dog yard like this. Aaron was very responsive when I had questions or requests. Highly recommended location and host.

Wonderful spot for 8 nights in San Diego! The yard was perfect for my pup to sunbathe and we could walk to so much. Space was comfortable for just me. Certainly room for 2nd. Host was responsive and helpful. Would stay again!

The host Aaron was super responsive and helpful. I would say that the space is much smaller than it looks. We had two adults and two small dogs and it was very tight. Also the area because of construction is very loud (which I understand is not his fault ) and parking on the street was difficult at times. The host was great

Aarons place felt cozy and we had no issues finding the place. The permit parking was helpful so we had a place to park. There were small things like the bathroom light was flickering and the bathroom door was getting stuck as well. Nothing bad enough to ruin our stay. We enjoyed our time here and liked how there were many nearby restaurants which was a plus! The neighborhood felt safe and we felt comfortable in the tiny home. It was a good stay overall!

My parents came to visit and with my apartment being too small to host them, I rented this cottage for them with the convenience that it's only 2 blocks away from me. It was absolutely perfect in every way. They raved about its comforts and charm throughout their stay. They wanted for nothing as it is well stocked with everything they could need. With it being tucked behind the main house it's off the street and private (and quiet). You occasionally pass the front house guests on the walkway but it was such a pleasant and easy experience overall. Will absolutely be rebooking this place for any future family visits!

Apart from noise from hospital and construction this was a delightful place to stay. We enjoyed the secure lot for our 2 well behaved dogs..beware of visiting skunk at night tho. We appreciated the locale..can walk to supermarkets a wide range of delicious eateries for when you dont want to cook. Everything that is needed for cooking is available and gas stove works wonderfully. We recommend this place.

This gem is an older mother-in-law style home. Compact, a bit quirky, well maintained, very clean, and stocked with all that you need in your home away from home. Location is perfect for visiting patients of UC San Diego Health hospital — as we were — just a three-block walk. The Hillcrest neighborhood to the south is full of good restaurants and shops, as well as San Diego’s “gayborhood.”

Overall the stay was great! The home was clean, nicely decorated and had a very "homey feel". Check in and departure instructions were easy to follow. My pups were with me and they enjoyed the yard. Restaurants were within walking distance and we were only about 10 minutes from Little Italy which was nice. The only downside was the parking, which is why I gave the stay 4/5. There were "Temporary tow away" signs (we notified the owner as soon as we arrived) so we were unable to park on the street without risking getting towed even with a parking permit (we confirmed with parking enforcement). The owner informed us we can park in the driveway until the guests from the front house arrived on our last day. On our last day, we received a text message ordering us to move our car without an alternative suggestion as to where we can park. We ended up working it out with the front guests. The man was rude and pushy, but we ended up coming to an agreement. I think it would have been helpful for the front guests to be aware of the parking issues (maybe they would have been more understanding and not as rude) in addition to being provided an alternative suggestion. I understand the parking situation is out of the owner's control, but there could have been a better way to handle it. No one wants to risk getting their car towed.

We loved staying here for so many reasons! Our group was myself, my husband, and our 3.5 year old daughter. The home is charming - which is (of course) code for small - but it was much larger than a hotel room and contained a thousand percent more character and charm. We enjoyed the grassy yard and picnic table, the Roku TV inside and adorable fold-down dining table (my daughter's favorite thing), and the well-designed bathroom and kitchen spaces. The homeowner has thought of everything you'll need during the stay, and provided it within arm's reach. The bedroom had more than enough storage for us; it was so nice to completely unpack and put the suitcases away for the weekend! This home is within walking distance of the Hillcrest shops and restaurants, and the gorgeous neighborhood is perfect for morning walks. Parking was easy and thoroughly explained, and freeway access and proximity to Balboa park made driving around a breeze. The only small downsides are both related to this being an older home - the (adorable) clawfoot tub can be hard to use, and the window AC unit didn't cool the entire house. However, we were visiting during an unusually hot weekend, so I don't anticipate this being an issue normally. We would gladly stay again!

I thought I was reserving the front property [clearly, I missed something during the reservation process], so I was a bit surprised upon arrival. Again, overall a good experience.

This place has all of the basics covered and was clean and easy to access and park. The location is great, with easy access to the best of San Diego. Communication from the owner was timely and thorough. I provided feedback to him that the seating in the unit is not comfortable and he has promised to improve it.

The house was perfect and exceed my expectations. I appreciated the price of this pet friendly venue and the neighborhood was very near to Hillcrest’s of restaurants, grocery stores and a pet shop. There were many lovely touches to the home like the extra blankets, laundry, bathroom essentials, games, bottle of wine, K-cups, lawn chairs and info booklet. I would recommend this home to everyone.

This is an adorable older house. Very clean and useable. Parking was not a problem due to a parking pass and tons of restaurants are within a mile - an easy walking distance. The manager was very attentive and available, but we didn’t have any issues. We ate outside on the picnic table! This was fun little place and we enjoyed our stay.

I stayed in this cute cottage the week of Thanksgiving. I was in town to visit friends but due to Covid ended up keeping pretty much to myself. I had my dog with me and we enjoyed exploring the Hillcrest neighborhood and the gorgeous canyon trails all around. Also visited the OB dog beach which is the best dog beach in the US. Got amazing Mexican food from La Posta a few times--the surf and turf burrito is divine. House was small and would be a tight squeeze even with 2 people but it was fine with one. Kitchen was well-equipped and everything was very clean. Overall a great stay!

I used to live in San Diego and came down for a visit. Our party of 2 adults and a dog loved this spot. It is your standard cozy (read: tiny) San Diego bungalow. The fenced yard was a big bonus, and our dog was happy to spend the day soaking up the sun. Great spot for people with dogs! Host was very fast to respond and accommodating. The neighborhood (Hillcrest) is one of the best in town. I would definitely rent this place again when visiting. I list the following only as considerations for others who may be light sleepers. It is next to a hospital. The ambulances don't usually use their sirens, but there are sirens and the occasional medical helicopter. It also has an old school bathtub that could be difficult for guests with mobility issues.

very nice property, very good communication with property manager, within walking distance of vibrant community. Little bit noisy as major construction and hospital activity close by, but nothing landlord can do about that and it didn't impact the stay at all. We would certainly select this property again

The Hillcrest area is a perfect location! We were very close to the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park. We are artist and it was a joy to visit the San Diego Museum of Art. Additionally we discovered the art store “Artist and Craftsman’s” store and found art supplies that we have not found anywhere else. Deftly out the French restaurant “Au Revoir” - we had filet mignon and scallops were Devine! Parking at the rental was easy and the owners communicated very clear instructions on what we needed to know for managing a positive stay. We will consider this location in the future. The bathroom has a claw foot tub which was a challenge for me to get in and out of because I have had knee surgery in the past.

Small house hidden and away from the street with its own backyard. Easy walking access to the Hillcrest neighborhood and Balboa Park. Kitchen has every thing you need to cook every day.

Great stay in this little cozy house that was next to everything! Lots of places within walking distance. Quick drive to Balboa Park and Gaslamp. Very complete and creative use of small space.

Everything was great. Street parking was not too difficult even when arriving back late at night. Awesome location to get anywhere. Lyft was less than $15 to go most places. You do hear a helicopter coming into and leaving the hospital from time to time, but it didn’t wake us up. Overall will stay again next time.

We enjoyed our stay at your comfy cozy quirky cottage! Appreciated the historic area and your craftsman style. Loved the Kitchen cabinets, check floor and clawfoot tub. Great place to bring pets and close to lots of great restaurants.

Personally I think a small cottage is always nicer than just a room. Even though this place is kind of dated, we loved the convenient location. Very nice to have a nice laundry on site. Sometimes I worry with pet friendly places, but I couldnt smell pet odor. Be aware the electrical system is for a tiny house. I would rent this again.

Perfect place for a group of <2 adults and 1-2 small children. 2nd bed is a pullout in the living area. Space is limited, but has an outdoor courtyard for more space to spread out. Bathtub/shower is very small, but to be expected from a space this size.

We stayed for a month here and it was perfect for us and our little dog. The yard is fenced in and private so the dog could have some freedom. We cooked dinners and had all the pans and utensils we needed. The location is great, close to everything. We did lots of walking in the neighborhood with the dog and it felt safe with lots of other dog walkers around. Good restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend this spot.

Clean, bed was comfortable, everything was there if we wanted to cook, good water pressure in the shower head, heat worked well enough. Second blanket could use washing/dry cleaning, internet went out randomly the last couple of days, shower/tub needs modifications to be safe for older adults, would rather have a regular coffee maker than a Keurig.
