We love this neighborhood and the apartment was super cute. The secondary sleeping space was a bit uncomfortable for our very tall son, but the main bedroom was really comfortable. It was easy to clean up. Parking was always available within a block. Lucy was responsive and eager to make sure our stay was good. We will definitely keep this spot on the list when we are back in town.

This was a great place for us to stay at. The kitchen had everything we needed which was great since we like to cook! Great place to stay for a couple or maybe a a family with a small kid. Location was great with easy access to freeways and several nice shops and restaurants right down the road.

Stayed here for a week for a little staycation. Host was helpful and responsive and this little apartment truly was a home away from home. Cozy and plenty of fresh air and light. Very clean and easy to access. Everything was walkable and so close by. Loved this little place. Would absolutely stay here again.

Awesome location, clean, and comfortable. Street parking was not a problem. Owner next door helpful and kind, even shared some lemons. A couple small issues with management company (wasn’t sent code for checkin and had to pay extra for late check out) but overall great stay.

Jennifer, since our confirmation message on Airbnb provides a link to all of the check-in details including your door code, I'm not sure what else we could've done to alleviate your error (although I will note that we responded within five minutes of your question because you didn't look at the link). Additionally, your complaint about this property has nothing to do with the property. It has to do with the fact that you were upset that we compensate our cleaners when we have to change their schedule, which is what we do when we honor a late checkout. It's funny how nobody wants to pay a cleaner a living wage when it actually impacts them The reality of it is you're being hosted in a private home and someone goes out of their way to clean it and they should be compensated fairly, especially if they have to show up at one as opposed to 10 AM and change their entire schedule. I'm sorry you didn't like that but that's the way the world is now and it's how it's gonna be going forward because we pay our cleaners in a manner that allows them to survive in San Diego. And I'm not gonna apologize for that. We are a super host and an amazing management company. I'm sorry you didn't like the answer to your question and you took it out on this property with your review. Vacation Rentals by Aaron

The best thing about this small 2nd story apartment is its location in South Park, very close to restaurants, cafes, stores, etc. The apartment was very quiet and clean, and everything worked well. We had to add a guest at the last moment (leaving LA because of the fires in January 2025) and Luci was very accommodating.

The setup for this spot was a little different than I've seen before. Aaron handles the booking and cleaning, but it was on the property of another woman. Both Aaron and the property owner were friendly, prompt and flexible with check-in/out times. location is great and the little home has all you need (TV never worked, but with do much to do within a few steps, who needs it!) would love to stay again

Stephanie, I am a lifelong friend of Luci, the onsite host and owner. We manage the logistics of the listing and she cares for her guests on the ground so there are 2 of us taking care of the guest's needs. Wish you would have reached out to us re the TV (that is our wheelhouse) and we could have gotten you up and running (but like you said why watch TV when you can enjoy South Park!?). Such a cosy place, in a beautiful neighbourhood which has a nice residential feel and lots of great places to go out for food and drinks. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay and more. One of the best fully equipped kitchens we’ve had! Its location is close to the beach a short Uber ride away, also walkable to other cute neighbourhoods like North Park. It’s spacious and comfortable for two people. The lady who owns it lives next door and is so friendly and great to get lots of information from. The value for money is also great given the pricey airbnbs in San Diego. We felt at home and didn’t want to leave! Host was Also quick to respond to any queries and check in was so easy via electronic keypad, we will be back again! Check out the great Shawarma Guys and sabor a birria taco trucks nearby, the wine bar The Rose, amazing burgers at Station Tavern, local supermarket Target is close by for groceries too. Clean, quiet, safe, well-stocked with any creature-comfort you would need within the unit, close to everything. Amazing restaurants and Target are within walking distance. This was more than enough space for just me. I appreciate having access to the full kitchen, even though I didn't cook, but loved the option. The neighborhood was also very walkable with cute shops, a target and some restaurants nearby. Also, plenty of street parking. The bathroom was perhaps my least favorite room, as the water didnt stay hot long, which for me was fine, but I wonder how it would have been if another person needed to shower. It was not enough to distract from my overall excellent rating and impression of the space, just noteworthy. The communication between the property manager and the homeowner (that lives next store) was comforting and appropriate. Would stay again for sure.

House was as advertised but would have been nice to have coffee grounds for the coffee pot. Bathroom could use more user friendly fixtures....towel rack by the sink, and small table for toiletries and put towels outside in bathroom entry closet. Maybe a little less communication from the owner also...hotels do not do so much over communicating and snooping on why you are in the area!! If I have a check-in - check out time on my contract and I'm an adult who has travel the world its annoying to be emailed reminders on those details!! thanks Connie

This property was in a great neighborhood convenient to the zoo, the airport, shopping, supermarkets, the harbor and Balboa Park. There was no assigned parking and it is a busy neighborhood but I was able to find parking within a block or so. It was quiet, cute and clean. The property management and owner were communicative, helpful and friendly.

Perfect location for where and what we wanted to do while we were in San Diego. Nice quiet neighbourhood with many amenities nearby. Nice comfortable 1 bedroom and the sofa double was very comfortable as well. Awesome water pressure. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We were in town to visit SDSU. Each trip there was about $15-20 on Uber comfort... so decent location for this. But the great thing was the number of awesome resturants in proximity to this location. Each night was fun to explore around. Room, bedding, toiletries, etc all were accurately depicted. Would definitely use this facility again.

We loved this little apartment in South Park, San Diego. The neighborhood was quiet, but close to Cafe Madeline or Big Kitchen for breakfast, and the mini Target a block away for essentials. The house is adorable, with a darling retro decor and comfy vibe. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a drip coffee maker for our morning brew. The owner has included thoughtful touches like extra cozy blankets, a memory foam topper for the extra couch bed (that was actually comfortable!), and beautifully minimal but cozy decor. We would love to stay again. Five stars for this rental.

Nothing bad to say at all. We were concerned about it being 3 miles away from the airport and the listing stating airplanes do pass by, however, it was not an issue. I thought the walls were going to shake or be extremely loud. I rarely ever noticed that noise at all, the cars passing by on the street were louder than any planes. With a TV or or fan on at night I never heard a thing and I think the SAN airport has a curfew on planes anyways. Great safe area and you can walk to a lot of places nearby. If we come back to the area we will stay here again.

This is such a cute property! Everything is so comfortable and makes for a perfect stay. Love the neighborhood... quiet and safe and great for walking around with lots of cafes, restaurants and quaint shops. It's also so easy to get anywhere in San Diego from this location. My wife and I recently stayed at Luci's comfortable pad. If you're vacationing in San Diego, the location is central to destinations like Balboa Park, the Zoo and a short drive to places like Coronado Beach. The small apartment is very comfortable and extremely clean. I was so impressed and happy with the well appointed kitchen. I don't believe I've ever stayed at a place with a complete spice rack, cooking utensils and cookware to make your own meals. This was a real nice bonus and we like to prepare our own food when traveling. We were able to walk out to restaurants nearby for baked goods and had no issues with parking on the street. Luci/Aaron were attentive and gracious hosts. Highly recommnded.

We had a delightful several weeks in this quaint little apartment, in the South Park neighborhood of San Diego, right near Balboa Park and a 12-minute drive to the beach on Coronado Island. The location is wonderful - a great, established neighborhood with many restaurants, shops, food trucks -- and the funkiest Target you've ever seen. We had a wonderful time. We found the apartment met our needs. It's a modest place, nicely decorated, with a wonderfully comfortable queen bed. Only challenge was that the mini-split A/C in the bedroom, when temps got warm in the afternoon, couldn't really cool the entire apartment. Eventually we learned how to manage it a bit better. Lucie (lives right next door) is a generous and helpful host, who provided lots of tips for enjoying the area.

I had a wonderful stay here! Luci is a wonderful host, super accommodating and friendly and has lived in the neighborhood for decades. I appreciated the local recommendations in the guest book! The location really can't be beat, it's extremely walkable to tons of great food and shopping options, Balboa Park, etc. The apartment is spacious, clean, and retains its original charm while everything has been updated and well maintained. It was also much bigger than I had anticipated, I think two or three people could stay very comfortably here. I'm looking forward to future stays here!

Apartment was exactly as advertised, but nicer. I have traveled around the country and when I say this was the most clean, neatest place I've stayed. Quiet, in nice neighborhood. Walking distance to restaurants, laundry mat, wine store, etc. Any dish or pan you will every need, you can find in the kitchen. I will say again, the place is spotless. Extra linen, covers is availabile. Believe I may have said hi to the owner, who I found lives next door. Short distance from downtown, zoo, sea world and Navy Base. Will book again for sure. Luci was lovely, the neighbourhood very walkable and with many handy conveniences such as food trucks, coffee shop and liquor store. The highlight was Luci’s beautiful lemon tree and having daily refreshing lemon drinks. The location was perfect, near Balboa Park and its many attractions. After a day of sightseeing, street parking was easy to find. I highly recommend this apartment for your stay in San Diego.

We ended up arriving about 1hr before check in and they were able to let us in at that time. A few hours later, Luci came by to say hi and to give us some pointers (as to where to go, and to offer her items for us to use at the beach if we wanted to and how to use the pull out couch) the location of this place is very quiet, and I felt pretty safe there. We didn't have any issues finding a parking spot really close to the house. The house had plenty of what we might need (blow dryer, travel size shampoo and conditioner, lots of toilet paper, cups, utensils etc) overall, we would stay here again if we were to go down to San Diego again :)

We were wary of booking this unit because of the review from the prior fall. But we have grandkids in the neighborhood and the convenience made it worth the risk. Happy to report that we encountered none of the issues the prior guest cited. The home was spotless. Linens were new and clean. Shower was clean as was the bathroom. On the upside the unit is wonderfully light and well appointed. The heater was perfect for the brisk nights we encountered and we were pleased to note that the unit could provide AC as well (having visited in the summer we have found that AC in this area is a must at that time). Kitchen had all that we needed to prep meals and we even had the grandkids over for a movie night and sleepover (the sectional was perfect for them). Luci (the owner) is so sweet, she knew we were going to have the kids over and she had popcorn and candy waiting at the unit when we arrived! We are so happy to have discovered this unit. Even if we didn't have family nearby we would come back for Luci's hospitality (and the neighborhood....so many great cafe's and restaurants).

This is a great apartment in a fun neighborhood. There are wonderful restaurants and shops. It is close to the zoo and Belboa Park. Luci (landlady) was very helpful. She was available to answer my questions and supply things to make my stay better. I would stay here again. There is no on site parking, but don't let this worry you. I always found a spot within a few houses of this cute apartment.

Perfect quiet location for me and two boys, 10 and 13. One slept with me in main bed, the other on living room couch. Lovely comfy bed with sunrise at my feet every morning. Nice shower and cute retro bathroom, just our style. Short walk to Target Express, seafood truck, great restaurants and breakfasts, and bus line. Easy to park our car in front or very nearby. Helpful to have a car, but not necessary, as bus is an easy ride downtown every 20 minutes or so. Fresh lemons from lovely Luci who helped us through some sticky situations with lost wallet. Kitchen had everything I needed, even a small cooler with ice packs for picnics. Beach towels. 2 boogie boards for my boys. Aaron and his staff were responsive, too, when we ran into airline trouble and had to stay two extra nights. All transactions were as promised after working out rental agreement. I would definitely stay again.

This locations was perfect for what we wanted to do in San Diego. It was a great neighborhood close to the Zoo, Balboa Park and beaches. The house was a good fit for us and our daughter. The land lady was super helpful and accommodating. We would come back here again!

This is an adorable space to stay in the center of San Diego. Luci (the owner who lives in the detached main home) and Aaron and Betsy and Desiree (the managers of the property at Vacation Rentals by Aaron) are the best hosts a visitor to San Diego could ask for. We chose this location because we have issues with allergies and Lucy has done an amazing job of creating an allergen-free environment. From the fragrance-free cleaners to the fragrance-free detergent they use, everything was comfortable and made us feel right at home. This unit itself is a very spacious one-bedroom guest house with hardwood floors decorated in a mid-century modern fashion. There is so much light that the space feels much larger than it is. We stayed with our family of 3 and we had more than enough space. The kitchen is accommodating and had everything we needed to make meals. And South Park is a wonderful place to walk... Everything you need from groceries to a Target are just a few blocks away. Every day I discovered another coffee shop that I fell in love with. And eating out was a superlative experience every night! Besides offering a wonderful space the location just can't be beat. We actually have family who live in East county and family who live at the coast and this location is literally right between them. My friends who live in South Park used to joke that they were 20 minutes from everywhere in San Diego and now I believe them. If you are looking for a location to serve as a hub for your visit to San Diego you really can't go wrong with this wonderful guest house. staying at the beach is a novel experience but once you've done it one time you realize that the crowds and the traffic and the noise can get annoying especially in the evening. whenever we come to town we stay in neighborhoods like South Park and then drive to the beach. That way we get to enjoy the beach during the day and we get to enjoy a peaceful neighborhood in the evening. And the cost savings between the beach and inland allow us extra budget for eating out and experiencing other parts of San Diego.

We really enjoyed our stay at the South Park Guest House! It was just as we had seen in the listing—a very charming and comfortable apartment. The bedroom has a very comfy queen bed, and the kitchen and bathroom are well-equipped. The location is in a laid-back, family-oriented neighborhood with cool local shops and restaurants. Luci was wonderful, and made sure we had everything we needed, including some delicious tomatoes from her garden! Would totally recommend a stay here.

Cute guest house, carefully appointed with attention to detail. Great location in South Park. Restaurants, morning coffee and a Target Express all within walking distance. Owner available and eager to accommodate her renters. I plan on staying again when in town.

Precious apartment! We needed a quiet place for my daughter to recover from surgery, and it was perfect! Walking distance to a Target Express and a few excellent restaurants! The landlady was super sweet! Even dusted off her card table for us to do a jigsaw puzzle! Super comfortable bed and couch. Really a good size kitchen too! Definitely recommend!

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights while visiting our son and his wife over the holidays. The guest house is small but has all the amenities, lots of closet and storage space, good lighting for reading, and a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is small but perfect for having breakfast or lunch at "home." We were awakened every morning to light flooding into the bedroom, which is a welcome break in December.

This was our second time to stay at the guest house and we enjoyed it once again. The bed is comfortable, there's good closet and drawer space, a well-equipped kitchen and the owner has added many thoughtful small details to ensure that guests feel at home. The guest house is in a great neighborhood with shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. We'll be back!

While in San Diego, I had an exceptional stay in this comfortable and charming apartment !!! Clean, well appointed & decorated, accessible parking, easy walking convenience to restaurants/cafes/breweries/yoga !!! This place has it all, including comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, wifi, and an owner who is gracious and available when needed !!! Truly a place that I could live in !!! I much look forward to a return trip !!!

We had a wonderful two week stay in this comfortable and well equipt apartment. The owner took care of any requests promptly and was a wealth of information as to attractions and hiking. Neighborhood very walkable and lush with plantings. Anxious to return.

I had a great stay. The apt was quiet and clean. The host lives next door and is very welcoming. A Target with groceries is just 2 blocks away and so many great brunch spots and restaurants in walking distance. Easy parking too! I will certainly stay again. Thank you!!
