Cozy Garden Studio in Kensington Walkable

we loved our weekend stay here! The space was even better than advertised and the photos. A perfect space for two! The area is beautiful and quiet, while still being near so much. Only down side was the Airbnb above us, we could hear everything. Besides that detail, we very much enjoyed our stay!

This place is great. Enjoy! All things considered - full kitchen, walkable beautiful neighborhood for my dog, great communication, big bathtub w plenty of hot water, free washer/dryer outside under the upper unit staircase, easy to find, walkable to lots of fun, never had to park off the block - this studio checks all the boxes, is good value. A couple less than perfect things: 1. From street parking to the unit is up three steps, down the side of the building, around the back. It makes unloading/ reloading the car awkward. It wouldn’t be a good place for someone with mobility issues. 2. There are issues with sound between this unit and the one above. The sound of the shower from upstairs is close to the head of the bed, and it’s loud. I was my usual self up late listening to a book while I cooked and even though it was just the speaker from my phone it disturbed the people above me. Definitely could be a problem for someone who is a light sleeper, esp if you go to bed early.

Our stay was great. The location is wonderful with a nice cafe and market within easy walking distance. Plenty of street parking. The suite is small but comfortable enough for a couple. The unit upstairs is also an airbnb and sound from upstairs can be heard especially at night when it's quieter outside. This wasn't really a huge issue for us but I would imagine if the upstairs guests were making slightly more noise it would be annoying. There was one small hiccup, with a kettle being listed in the amenities but no kettle was found, however this was quickly resolved as the host had a kettle delivered with amazon the next day. The host was very quick to respond to any messages.

Cute studio, just what we needed to visit family in the area. The neighborhood is extremely walkable with a store, restaurant and playground just up the road. Comfortable bed but the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Otherwise everything was great and we’d stay here again.

We enjoyed staying in this cozy side of San Diego. Host was responsive and helpful throughout our trip. Very clean space, perfect for a couples getaway. What I loved the most was how walkable and safe the area was. Right next to some nightlife, restaurants, and market was beyond convenient for us. Recommend this Apartment - Kensington is a lovely Neighborhood and a great place to swarm out to all things you can do in San Diego. Loved our stay here, great place for two people. Such a cute and lovely stay! Highlights: - Parking was very easy. La zona donde se encuentra ubicado el alojamiento es muy buena, nosotros prácticamente hicimos no más de 15 minutos a nuestros destinos. El alojamiento es pequeño, sin embargo nos fue muy útil. Está muy bien equipado, la cocina tiene todos los utensilios necesarios para cocinar. Únicamente sugeriríamos agregar un espejo de cuerpo completo y un poco más de luz en la habitación 😊. If you’re looking at this place - JUST BOOK IT. It was one of the best experiences we have ever had through Airbnb and so affordable! First - the apartment is gorgeous, extremely clean and very private. The patio is such a huge asset, we spent every morning out there enjoying the nice landscaping and serene location. Check in was a breeze, and street parking in front of the apartment was always available. The neighborhood is picturesque and quiet as can be. The downtown area is also safe, peaceful and beautiful. The restaurants are incredible, we had some really great meals (and could walk to and from dinner!). We felt completely safe even at 10pm walking home. It’s THAT peaceful. If neighborhood walkability is important to you, this place is the winner. 20 minutes from beaches and cute beach towns, 15 minutes from San Diego and all the museums. I can’t say enough about this place - it was truly fabulous. We will be booking it again and looking at other listings of Aaron’s!

Our stay here was great. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. It’s in walking distance of some great restaurants and Starbucks! If you are sensitive to sounds it is good to note that the studio is on the base level and you have neighbors staying above you. We could hear everything and it wasn’t the best but if you’re not staying in as much you won’t mind it.

I would definitely stay here again! It’s such a peaceful, safe and walkable area! The place itself was very clean and looked as good as was shown. It was a great comfortable home base after a day out in san diego. While we didn’t need to request much from the hosts because we had everything we could need and more available to us in the airbnb already, the hosts made it clear that they were willing to accommodate requests if needed! Highly recommend! :)

Everything is positive except for the fact that this was a ground floor rental with a unit above. I could hear everything from snoring to walking around, and water pipes. For that reason it was loud when I didn’t need it to be. Everything else was really well done.

I would definitely stay here again! It’s one of the bigger studios and the kitchen is a plus. Aaron was an accommodating host, and was very understanding when we checked out a little bit later due to our alarm not going off. The rental has the basic necessities but it does get a little cold since there’s only a small heater. But I get cold very easily so that’s not his fault!!

This is now one of my favorite AirBnbs! The spot was full of personal touches with snacks and fresh flowers. Great area for 1-2 people. The space was very private, the backyard is not fully enclosed but was perfect to sip a glass of wine and read a book. Neighborhood was extremely walkable, only two blocks from downtown Kensington with restaurants, shops, and pilates. Great area for my dog for walks and parking was very convenient.

This stay was fantastic! I would love to make it a regular spot for San Diego if and when I return. The host team was very communicative and friendly, the place was beautiful with everything basic that I needed plus a few random extras in the kitchen and bathroom, and it was an adorable location that felt safe even though it was so easy to find/access. I even walked around on a week night as a solo woman (always careful of course) and found people around, with the lively Kensington main street so closeby. That was huge for me. Parking was very easy as well which made loading/unloading quite easy. The patio was adorable and if I had a friend or two over i think it would be perfect for a small group to hang, although I could hear the folks upstairs at times so not completely private/silent, but it didn’t bother me! Would definitely recommend!!

Our stay at Aaron’s place was nothing short of incredible. Aaron made sure to reach out with plenty of time in advance to make sure we were comfortable and provided a sense of ease heading into the stay. The place itself was exactly what we expected and had a gorgeous patio to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. A short walk to Kensington presented cafes, restaurants, and Stella Jean’s Ice Cream (please go if you have time). Price was definitely reasonable considering the cleanliness, access to local vendors, and the general neighborhood vibe. Would recommend 10/10, worth every penny!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this sweet little garden apartment! I stayed with my dog for two weeks and it was the perfect little spot for us. It’s quiet and private and felt very safe. The Garden Studio was very clean and came well equipped with all the basics. It was in a quiet location that was walkable to the restaurants and shops in Kensington. Friendly, safe neighborhood with lots of dog walkers. Finding the Garden Studio was challenging, as it wasn’t clearly marked on the Main Street. The studio sits behind other units in a little garden court yard. A woman called from the rentals by Aaron and directed us how to find the studio. The garden studio was warm at night for sleeping, as it didn’t have an AC unit and the fan offered minimal relief on warmer nights. The kitchen and bathroom were both very clean. The drain in the shower didn’t always drain well. The location was really excellent! We tried many of the local eateries in Kensington and they had a natural food store that was perfect. Moving my daughter into her apartment at SDSU made this location great. We loved coming back to the little Kensington neighborhood.

Aaron was amazing at communicating, the water pressure was nice, he had extra towels and trash bags if needed, the only con was the bed and pillows weren’t that comfortable my partner and I both woke up with body aches, the place did get pretty hot but in another review I saw Aaron kindly said they were working on putting a.c at the place, but overall the place was nice and peaceful, will recommend! Aaron is very respectful and responsive !

The location of this rental is what this place has going for it. The neighborhood is safe, clean and within walking distance of so many good restaurants. It is also very quiet, there’s people walking their dogs everywhere, but I never really heard anyone. I will definitely come back to stay in the area. The major downfall is how hot it gets inside. Something about either the window placement or the surrounding buildings block all air flow into the space. They did provide a small fan, but it wasn’t powerful enough to be helpful. The first night was rough. So we stopped by target and bought a box fan to put in the window and that made a huge difference. The outside seating is wonderful, we brought our dogs and it was nice to have a little hangout area. The bed was comfortable and the shower has great water pressure. Overall, it was a good experience, but I wouldn’t stay here again simply because of how hot it was in the space.

In regards to the heat/ air flow, the good news is we are installing air conditioning later this month, so that will no longer be an issue for anyone in the future. This place itself is beautiful, and quiet. Great for a single or couple, with all the essentials you need, including the full kitchen, which to me is a nice have! I love the private little patio for morning coffee. Just a few blocks from a Main Street with great little restaurants and shops. This place is wonderful!!! Aaron is also a very responsive host. I had some personal circumstances that required a great deal of flexibility and Aaron was very kind in trying to be as accommodating and up front as possible. I noted the place was also not finished being cleaned when I arrived in the evening. When I mentioned this to Aaron he said this can happen on occasion with same day bookings, understandable… still, both Aaron and the cleaning service personally reached out to try and accommodate as much as possible. The cleaning service sent someone out asap and the host reached out with understanding and ended up being very generous with their accommodations

Our stay in San Diego this time around was one of the most relaxing we've had yet. I feel it was partly due to the fact that this place was so peaceful. We hardly heard any noise all and the neighborhood was really nice. The apartment was simple yet had what we needed if we wanted eat at home instead go out. I loved the kitchen, and the sink, it was huge and very modern. This was our first airbnb experience and it was a great one. We would definitely book again with Vacation rentals by Aaron he was very attentive with questions and issues I had prior to booking. He was also very helpful during my stay as well. Couldn't figure out the microwave and the last day I saw the manual in the drawer, but I had given up already. I loved the patio and garden outside it was a nice addition to this little place. Looking forward to my next booking.

Aaron was a very responsive and kind host. The location of the place is amazing (walking distance to restaurants) and it’s also the lower level of a building which is important to know. It has tasteful decor, very clean, and the bed was comfortable.
