Light Bright Spanish Style Beauty 3 min to Zoo

This place was great! Our stay was amazing! We will definitely stay here again! Aaron was super responsive to all of my questions. We were traveling with a toddler and walked in and there was a high chair sitting right out in the dining room - it just felt so thoughtful! The bedrooms are more spacious than the pictures look. The backyard is a perfect place to hang out. But the best part is it is a 10 minute walk to the San Diego Zoo. We were able to do the zoo in the morning, go back to the house for naps and then hit the zoo again in the afternoon! So perfect!

Great location, good parking. The second bedroom is connected to the first (a surprise) so that setup was a bit weird for privacy but ok since we were staying with our adult kids. While kitchen and bathroom are dated, everything was clean and worked. We did thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen was outfitted well for cooking. Neighbors and neighborhood were very nice. Good price for the space and location.

The Airbnb was very nice and offered a good amount of privacy. My favorite part was the backyard, it had patio furniture and was such a relaxing space to unwind. The property also came with a washing machine and parking, which was super convenient. The hosts were extremely responsive, and overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay! The Airbnb was very bright and cheerful, and matched the description listed. The owner was very responsive to all our communication. The unit was very clean and the kitchen was well-appointed with most all necessary needs. The location was great---close to grocery stores, the zoo, restaurants, etc., yet still very quiet and peaceful. The beds were comfortable and spacious. The backyard was great to sit and relax, with oranges ripe for the picking! We totally enjoyed our stay, and we look forward to our next visit!

Great space in a perfect location. You are within 20 minutes of Coronado, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, and downtown. The zoo is seconds away. Hillcrest and North Park have great restaurants. Street is a little busy but didn’t feel unsafe at all. Would highly recommend Aaron’s place. There was an issue with an outdoor light and Aaron and the team were out the next day to address it and the handyman was out the next to fully fix it. Great experience!

The location of this Airbnb is perfect for visiting Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. The place is very quaint and quite cute. It had everything we needed for the week. If you’ve got light sensitive kiddos, be aware that the back bedroom especially is very light and bright very early in the morning, and at night lots of light streams through the windows and French door from the security lights outside. It would be near perfect if the host installed a black out shade option. Cons? Not really, although the two small couches and single living room chair aren’t the comfiest and their upholstery has certainly seen better days, which is why some past reviewers may have called it a bit shabby. But if proximity to the park is what you’re after, this place really can’t be beat and we had a lovely stay.

It was everything expected. The house is great for my family vacation with a full kitchen ready to cook anything for the family. The back yard has tons of space and being able to park your car inside the property is a plus. I will expect to rent this location in the future again. Good location with short walk to commerical areas and easily accessible to highways. Across from Balboa Park and in residential neighborhood, access to park is close but not exactly just across the road as the map may suggest. House is well kept though pretty sparse and basic. Generally a pretty good value. Laundry is out back in separate outbuilding. Internet connected TV in living room, mini-splits with heating and AC in each room.

Location is ideal! Close to Balboa Park is an understatement. Had everything we needed in the duplex. In terms of cleanliness, we found dust and crumbs which we didn’t expect for a cleaning fee of $160 but it didn’t bother us too much since there were cleaning items. We had some communication issues. We were told we could check in early but had a plumber show up and I had to reach out to figure out if they were supposed to be there. Then we found one of the sun shades outside was broken and I reached out and they already knew. The next day we came back to people passing by the driveway and digging, making the driveway and garage not usable. They didn’t know who it was until the next day when I reached out again because there was loud banging going on for hours. All I was told was that there was miscommunication between scheduled plumbing and owner. I finally had to reach out to Airbnb to resolve the issue. They use text, I recommend Airbnb messages. Had an ok stay with some hiccups.

It was resolved in less than an hour. As for your early arrival we had offered it for free and you were still welcome to check in early but we did have a minor leak that we wanted to fix immediately. Far and away, the best feature of this home was the location. With it's access to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, to all of the restaurants on University Avenue and the bike paths that are everywhere in San Diego, this place is the place to be if you want to experience San Diego.

We stayed here for a quick trip and love the area. We have stayed in the area before and know it is peaceful and close to restaurants. The home was very clean however the home and decor is a little shabby chic. The place looks brighter and bigger in the pics. For the price, I was bummed to not see more updating to the home. The bathroom and kitchen are original and it’s a pretty old home. It would be nice to have a water purifier in the kitchen and at least updated flooring in the bathroom to make it less shabby and more chic. This is a duplex and the walls are super thin. We could hear the neighbor who apparently is a night owl because we would hear him stomping around at around 1:00am. Host was very responsive which is appreciated and communication was great. We would stay here again but it wouldn’t be our first choice.

One of the best stays I’ve had. The home was beautiful and pristine, just like in the pictures. They provide you with the basic necessities in the kitchen (gas stove, coffee, utensils) and the bathroom (towels, shampoo). The location as well was excellent, walkable to the zoo and Balboa Park. Downtown and eateries were only minutes away by car. Parking was no problem with there being a usable garage and driveway. I’d definitely want to stay here again if I’m back in San Diego.

I enjoyed this rental. It looks exactly like the photos. It was very nice and clean. There was lots of helpful, clear, proactive instructions and communication. Responses to any questions were lightning fast and responsive. And all of the basic amenities you would expect ( such as towels, blankets, and kitchen items ) were well stocked.

Fabulous location, adorable home and a wonderfully relaxing backyard. We loved our stay here so much! And we loved being so close to Balboa Park and all the great food and shopping in Hillcrest/North Park. This is a duplex which I hadn't understood before arriving and the walls were thin so I was worried about my kids making too much noise. Luckily the next door neighbors were very nice.

We had to unexpectedly book a last minute extended stay in SD due to canceled flights and booked this just one hour before check-in. The check-in process was seamless and it was a great hub for us to work remotely from. It’s directly across the street from an elementary school, but in a nice and quiet neighborhood that still just a 10-15 minute stroll to delicious local eateries. Overall, a nice stay.

Lovely duplex with stylish new furniture and decor, very simple and uncluttered, lots of light, flow, tons of storage. Worked very well for our family. Peaceful and enjoyable; the design of the main room and bedrooms especially is artsy minimalist chic, and warmly welcoming. They seemed to have all we needed and were a quick and easy walk to the Zoo, Balboa Park, Hillcrest. Street parking was plentiful. Easy to navigate from here as a home base. Luckily, the neighbor was out of town, though it appears the backyard is shared, just as an FYI. Also, responsive host! We appreciated prompt responses and solutions. We just wish there were more short term (weekend) options in the future, not just weekly, as we would be back for sure!

This was a perfect spot for spending a week exploring San Diego. We couldn’t have picked a better spot. There was plenty of on-street parking, which we found to be a luxury in the city, and we were close to everything we wanted to do and see. Aaron so very responsive and helpful, which we so appreciated. The listing clearly states that guests have to walk through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom and the rest of the house. It’s a fine set-up for a family with kids, but it doesn’t work so well with two couples.. That said, we had an excellent experience and recommend this place for a great stay in San Diego.

This is a very clean and tastefully decorated unit with a lot of potential. It is in a nice location very close to the zoo and the park which you can walk to very easily. It has only very basic kitchen amenities which is fine for a quick stay when you are eating out most meals. A nice spice rack would be a great addition and a few more serving pieces of different sizes. The walls are very thin between this unit and a long term tenant's adjacent unit. At times,I could hear the tenant walking on the wood floors. The drawers in the kitchen and hallway on the shared wall are difficult to open and close causing noise to the other unit when in use. I believe this gave rise to a noice complaint on our very first day for slamming doors when we were trying to see what we had in the kitchen for use. Some adjustment to the drawers could help. We were happy to have a garage for our mid size car but is is a very narrow driveway and small garage in case you have a larger car. We had a nice stay.

This is a quiet, comfortable spot in a great location, especially for anybody coming to San Diego looking for proximity to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. Great neighborhood for walking. The beds are comfy and the home has everything you need for a restful stay. Super convenient and a great find.

Don’t hesitate to rent this cozy home while in San Diego. It’s location is central to everything including being right next to Balboa Park (as described). The neighborhood feels safe with lots of street parking if needed. As it gets dark, there’s plenty of people out jogging and walking their dogs, which is a good sign in my opinion. Communication was great with Aaron. We were provided clear instructions for checking in/out and everything else in the home. The home was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there’s plenty of silverware/pots/cups/ & towels. Just be mindful of the layout of the bedrooms (included in the description-we didn’t mind). Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful home in San Diego and loved everything about it. Whoever wrote that last review about this home is so inaccurate and not true. The location was perfect and centrally located to everything in San Diego. The house offered everything we need. The cleanliness was suburb, and I can tell the host didn’t miss a thing. We enjoyed the living room space as well as back yard space to sit and have coffee. The host was very helpful and communication was great from the start. Check in was easy, parking was available and there’s even a washer and dryer to use. All in all we had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed the house and the amenities. Loved being close to all things and I would definitely recommend this home and vacation rentals by Aaron to anyone needing a home in San Diego.

The location makes this an ideal jumping off point for all San Diego adventures. You can walk to the zoo, and proximity to the zoo means there's lots of Ubers nearby. The house is comfortable and clean and the hosts were so easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit!

Lovely, comfortable home in a great location next to Balboa Park. But, the reason for 4 stars instead 5, is that we were disturbed by noisy leaf-blowing (which I find to be one of the most useless and obnoxious of human energy wastes) for several hours shortly after our arrival in the late afternoon. This was very surprising given that the "lawn" was entirely astroturf. Why not plant a native, California plants garden that supports a diversity of wildlife and provides more interest to humans as well, and "leave off the leaf-blowing."

Great location if you’re in town for activities in Balboa Park like the zoo and museums. House was clean and comfortable for our stay. Parking in SD is terrible so it was great to have off street parking if needed.

House was as described. Location great for all Balboa Park activities. Easy to get to, street and off-street parking available. Comfy beds, well appointed bathroom & kitchen. Check out requirements minimal and reasonable. Things to consider if this is the right space for you: Unit shares walls with another unit belonging to the same owner. Walls are thin so you may hear the other group if there is one and they will hear you. It's an old home with a unique layout. Bedrooms are connected. So you have to pass through one to get to the backyard or to the bathroom/living areas.

Great place to stay if you want to explore Balboa Park/San Diego Zoo. The house is clean and spacious in a quiet but interesting neighborhood. The kitchen is well supplied. Both bedrooms are fairly large. While you have to walk through the larger first bedroom to get to the second one, the second bedroom has a door to the back-yard area. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay in this house again.

My teenage daughter and I stayed at this property for spring break. The set up was absolutely perfect for us. The neighborhood is wonderful and walkable, the property was clean and well-appointed, and there’s a beautiful outdoor space. We appreciated being within walking distance of great restaurants, grocery stores, and Balboa Park. Our stay was quiet and we spent wonderful evenings resting up at the property after long days adventuring around San Diego. The host was easy to reach and allowed us to store our bags in the property’s garage before check-in so we could explore the neighborhood. We were so grateful!
