Mermaid Cove Your private Pacific Beach Oasis

We had a great stay for the weekend. The house was clean and very walkable to the bay and restaurants. Host was super responsive, and house was as described.

The Mermaid Cove was cute and we found it to be of great use for our girls' trip! Very convenient and had all the amenities needed. The bathroom was a bit tiny for the number of people we had in the main back house, and counter space was a bit small. There weren't many places to put all of our toiletries on. There weren't enough towel hooks to hang things, too. The entrance was a bit hard to find since the address takes you to the front of the main house. But all in all, the house was great, comfortable, and served its purpose. Very tidy areas except the floors were a bit dusty. Thanks for hosting!

While there were only three of us on this trip, the set up was perfect. Having a separate detached bedroom was useful when my husband needed to work / take conference calls… He had a private area to go to (without bothering my daughter or me ☺️) The private yard & outdoor dining was just gorgeous. We loved walking around the Neighbourhood, over to the bay and down to the beach. Great location and great set up. I would definitely come back.

We enjoyed our stay in Pacific Beach. Excellent location to walk to the bay. We rented bikes daily to ride up and down the boardwalks. Place looks exactly like the pictures. Clean, comfortable and very quiet.

Decent place to stay in the San Diego area. Needs a deep clean, but nothing egregious. Other guests should know that it’s not the most kid-friendly home. The detached room was ok for my teen, but wouldn’t have worked for younger kids. The bathtub has a glass door that makes it very tricky to bathe a toddler. And all the dining chairs are counter height and either swivel or are wobbly- again tricky with toddlers. It was quiet and private (despite it being a guest home behind the main property) and close to the beach. Well stocked with basic cooking supplies and even had beach chairs and towels available to use.

We loved our stay. It had a very private yard where we could sit outside early morning and enjoy our coffee.. In the evenings we had dinner outside and played card games with the family…. The location, being so close to the bay, was perfect for swimming. We could also walk to the ocean to enjoy the boardwalk and swimming. We walked for groceries, coffee, restaurants and shopping. Trader Joes and pickleball were a few minutes away. Everything was so accessible….. The host was responsive immediately if we had any questions…. We had plenty of backpack beach chairs to take to the beach and boogie boards for the kids to play with……We hope to go back again💕💕

We really enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood was safe and very walkable. There was a lot to do in the area or a quick drive to all the sights. Aaron sent a comprehensive guide to the home prior to arrival ( check I would have been a breeze if we had fully read this as the entrance is in the back of the home!). The home was very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more! The cookware was somewhat limited, but it wasn’t a problem as we did not cook much. We really enjoyed the outside living space. We would highly recommend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Cove. The house and yard were just as described -- and were very comfortable to stay in. The accommodations -- 2 bedrooms in the house and 1 in a separate unit -- fit our needs perfectly. We had 2 little ones with us and loved walking with them to Fanuel Park, which has both a great playground and gentle beach. We also appreciated that the Mermaid Cove is within walking distance of the boardwalk with all its restaurants and ocean beach. And the hosts were very responsive and helpful!

Perfect for our family of 5. The home was clean, welcoming, decorated well, and the patio was perfect for grilling and eating outside in the beautiful weather. The beds were very comfortable, we felt at home. The bay and beach are both walkable with lot's of shopping and places to eat. Having an assigned parking spot made things a lot easier also! Aaron the host was super responsive and helpful when needed. We plan to stay again when we come back to San Diego for a visit!

Great place for a family vacation. Central to pretty much everything in San Diego. The two rooms in the main house were enough for our family of four. We used the bathroom in the separate, third bedroom each day and night for an extra place to shower and get ready which was great. Extremely clean all around and excellent communication with property manager. Would definitely stay again.

Nice location. Cozy spot. A nice separate apartment. We never received the check in email so that was a bit of an ordeal (we walked into homeowners house by accident as we didn’t receive the check in instructions) It was quickly remedied and all was well after.

We had a great time at this property! It was clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The backyard space was so nice and relaxing. Overall this property is very well maintained and inviting! The owner was very sweet as well. Next time we visit our son in San Diego we’ll definitely stay here again!!!

Great cottage, lots of space, very clean and nicely decorated. Nice walk to beach. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed having a detached room and bathroom suite, which was enclosed with the main house. Felt like a small and private compound. Would recommend and stay again.

This property is amazing. Had everything we needed to feel comfortable for a weeks stay. Close to so many things (walking distance) like the beach, restaurants, coffee and donuts! Grocery store is very close as well. Quiet, clean and easy to find. Will definitely book again when I visit San Diego in the future.

This location is great with quick access to food and beach. Uber drivers know the area. The house was nicely furnished and had beach items too. The rental was easy and with no complications and even worked with us on checkout time. Will have this as one of our favorites!

Loved the location of this little house. So close to the bay and the beach, perfect for walking to restaurants. The house is really well stocked, nicely decorated and has plenty of wardrobe space. We made great use of the BBQ and the beds were comfy and clean. Would definitely recommend!

My family and I had a wonderful weeklong stay at Mermaid Cove. The place couldn't have been cleaner and what a great location! 2 blocks to the bay and only a short distance further to the beach. All that PB has to offer is within walking distance - especially with the incredible weather San Diego is known for. Our host, Aaron, was on top of it any time we had a question and the communication was the best we've seen of any vacation rental we've stayed in domestically or abroad. Wish we could've stayed longer!

3 of us stayed here for our work trip. I loved how the 3rd room was detached from the main house so I could be separated from the guys and have my own bathroom (being a woman). Check in was smooth and the place was clean! Would love to stay here again.

First of all let me say that communications with the host was top shelf. From pre-booking until checkout, the host was quick to respond. I asked for a special request prior to booking and the host was accommodating. I was really surprised but thankful the request was honored. Getting into the property was easy and the instructions were accurate. The inside was exactly as described. It did get a little cramped at time for 5 people but we were out and about a lot so it was fine. The kitchen is well stocked. A few of the burners were not turning on but the stove is very big so it didn’t matter. We notified the host but didn’t need them fixed. The beds and linens were perfect. The location is perfect. Easy walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. We would come back here for sure.

Great location within walking distance of Mission Bay, Pacific Beach and public transportation to downtown San Diego. The kitchen is a bit short of pots & pans & food containers so if you are planning to do much cooking take an inventory first before your first visit to the grocery store. The property is bright and spacious and the backyard eating area pairs well with the gorgeous San Diego weather. Definitely recommend.

The Pacific Beach neighborhood was perfect for our family vacation, so many things in walking distance! The VRBO was quiet and clean, beds were a bit small and softer than we like, but overall it was a great fit for us. AAron was super easy to communicate with and made everything smooth and easy.

We were impressed with this property. Very modern, bright, clean, with a great patio area to seat and dine outside. It fit's great for family with kids. A great benefit is that it has own laundry room. The owner was very informative and provided us clear communication. Very smooth process from booking till checkout. It's a small oasis near the beach ⛱️. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Cove and will definitely come back soon. Thank you Aaron!

All communication was proactive and clear. Check-in was digital and seamless. The property is beautiful, clean, private, and exactly as listed. The nearest grocery store is less than a mile away, as are the bay and the beach in a very walkable and very friendly neighborhood. We've stayed in many rentals in many areas of San Diego and North County, and this one was exceptional. We will definitely stay again!

The hosts of this property made everything easy from booking through check-in (and out). They were easy to get in touch with, and have a website with all of the information pertinent to your stay.The property is in a great location near Pacific Beach. You can walk to Sail Bay in under 5 minutes, and Pacific Beach in under 10. Our family liked the bigger waves in Pacific Beach.On the walk, you pass any number of restaurants, coffee shops, and gift shops. Our favorite little find on the way back from the beach was Pacific Beach Ice Cream Co. There are plenty of places around to buy groceries as well, which I'd recommend since eating out near the beach for every meal can be expensive.If you do decide to buy groceries, the kitchen is well appointed and easy to cook in. There's a gas range, a large fridge, and any utensils needed. You can also cook outside on the grill. There's a great outdoor dining area that was well suited for our family of 5.The house itself was a great fit for us as well. Our youngest two children split the room with a bunk bed, and the oldest enjoyed the privacy of the little casita that has it's own bathroom. The laundry room has all of the things you need to make the beach fun. There are chairs, umbrellas, toys, and boogie boards. The house also has a supply of beach towels.My only suggestion is blackout curtains in the main bedroom because its bright when the neighbor's flood lights come on. Small complaint for an overall great stay.

Very nice & clean property in a fun location. The rooms were perfect for our group (mom, dad, and boys age 17 & 20) would also be excellent for multi gen travel or all adults. The 3rd bedroom is detached from the main house so not great if you have smaller kids. The hosts provided everything we needed including beach towels and chairs, boogie boards, games and more. Check in was easy but I had to have the instructions resent via text. Vrbo messages do not link to check-in instructions. Property manager was very quick and helpful. Easy walk to beach, even easier walk to Mission Bay. Restaurants, & groceries all in walking distance. Would 100% here stay again.

Mermaid cove is a perfect getaway for those looking to take in all San Diego has to offer. The Casita gave privacy for my teen. The main apartment had everything for us to make delicious meals after shopping at the farmers markets. We could walk to the beach and it was a quick drive to all the city sights. The decor is immaculate and tasteful. Truly a gem. We can’t recommend it enough!

Aaron was a great host! Communication was excellent and he was always quickly responsive to questions. House was extremely clean, well stocked, and organized. Our 18 year old son loved having his own "house" in the detached sleeping area and bathroom. The bay is a close 5 minute walk and the boardwalk is about 10 minutes.

Overall, this was a good stay. We were travelinging with our almost 3 year old and my sister, so we used all the rooms. It was super convenient to have a separate room for my daughter as well as a bit of a separated space for my sister. The overall space was clean. The bunk bed was great for my daughter and she slept incredibly well. We bought an inflatable side bumper for a little more peace of mind for her not falling out. She slept on both the top and bottom and absolutely loved the flexibility. The beds in the main room and the guest house were not the most comfortable, which was a bit tough after a long day out. But not so uncomfortable that you couldn't sleep. While the overall space was clean, we did realize a little too late in our stay that the AC was causing some issues in the guest house, exacerbating allergies. We did let the property manager know and they were responsive immediately. It was great having a communicative and responsive property manager. Overall amenities were good. I love the outdoor space. It was really relaxing. The proximity to things was perfect. You could walk if you wanted to spend a bit of time outside, and you could drive and find paid parking if walking was not an option. We had a great time at this property. I would highly recommend it to those looking for a stand alone property with space for a small family.
