Relaxing Beach Bungalow a bayside retreat

Great spot by the beach. The patio fire pit is a great touch and was the highlight of our nights. Aaron was a great host and very proactive in providing all the information we needed to feel at home.

The place was really great, comfortable for a big family ( 4 adults plus 2 kids) also was near to the beach, that was really great for the morning walks. the garage was a little bit small for our Chevy traverse because we were not able to open the trunk inside of it. But everything else was really great, the house was well equipped for a nice experience at beach. We definitely will come back soon.

The house is very conveniently located to the beach, 2-3 min walk, it’s very private and quiet which we appreciated. Kitchen is fully stocked and we had everything we needed. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars, the was hair on the sheets in primary bedroom. Primary bedroom also looked a little like a rundown hotel room, other rooms were great. Primary could use a fresh coat of paint. Otherwise very pleasant experience!

Aaron's place was perfect for our 2 nights in San Diego. Clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the patio in the evening with the fire table. Can't beat the proxmity to the beach and the provided beach toys, chairs, towels made our trips to the beach so easy. We'd definitely stay here again next time we're in San Diego!

Aaron’s Airbnb had a nice big kitchen with all amenities, condiments, enough cutler and plates and cups. The bedrooms and bunk beds were big in size. There were enough towels , stroller, beach chairs so we didn’t have to go looking for them. Best of all, the house is 2 min walk to the local bar, as such we were able to go out every night to wind down. We would stay here again when we visit

Location was perfect! Our 3 year old LOVED the bayside beach (no waves and great sand to play in) and we loved that it was a quick walk to either the bay or ocean. Was nice to be far enough away from the boardwalk area that it felt safe and quiet. We really enjoyed having the whole house to ourselves instead of being in a multi unit property which is uncommon in the area too. Coffee, food and a market within walking distance. Would stay again!

Absolutely loved our stay. Had a lot to do within walking distance. Was super happy that there was beach equipment with a wagon too! The home was very roomy in the living area and definitely ideal for our stay with our crawling baby. We took advantage of the outdoor dining area when eating breakfast. Overall, house was extremely well-equipped, and very clean. Would love to stay here again on future travels to San Diego!

Comfortable, very well equipped, beach is within 3 min. Walk. The beach equipment was fantastic. 5 beach chairs, sturdy beach umbrellas, cooler, small and large bodyboards, and even a wagon to carry it all to the beach by foot, no need to drive. We ate out but if you want to cook, kitchen has it all. Only thing missing is an instant coffee maker, but I brought my own Nespresso Machine.

Great quiet location, spacious front room/kitchen area. Provided everything we would need for the beach and also for the baby. Very walkable location. Two car garage came in handy and we utilized the south end of the public parking lot for our oversized pickup, which allowed overnight parking for passenger vehicles. The location is far enough away from Belmont Park and was very quiet and felt safe. Appreciated that there were just three steps up to enter the one story home, enjoyed not lugging suitcases up a flight of stairs. If I were ever in San Diego again, I’d choose this home.

We have stayed at this property multiple times over the years — always clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for our family of 5… and we leave with the best memories! Making s’mores and playing games on the patio… Playing volleyball and collecting seashells at the bay (just a couple houses away)… Bodyboarding, building sandcastles, collecting sand dollars and relaxing at the beach (just a short walk across the street)… Enjoying fun rides and delicious ice cream at Belmont Park (only a few minutes walking distance away — just far enough for a quiet stay, but close enough to be a super easy walk for some beachside fun)! And don’t forget that parking is a bit tricky in Mission Beach, yet we are able to park our large SUV inside the garage (very rare to have that luxury)!

We had a great girls weekend. The house was very well located in close proximity to the beach. It is walkable to coffee shops and restaurants. We found it to be clean and in good condition. All necessary amenities to be able to cook if you wanted. Nice touches in the bathrooms and the beds were comfortable.

Aaron was very responsive & easy to communicate with. The location was perfect…bayside just a block away & Mission Beach a couple blocks. Home size was the perfect size for our group (4 adults, 3 kids). Loved being able to sit outside at the fire pit in the evenings. House is in perfect location-right between the Bay and the ocean. It is walkable to restaurants and shopping. The house was very comfortable and stocked with everything you’d need. It has a 2 car garage that has an amazing amount of beach chairs and toys. Aaron was great-responded immediately whenever I had a question. We would definitely choose to rent this house again on future trips to San Diego.

Easy walking to both the bay and the ocean, parking can be a little tricky off the alley, but having the garage is nice! Television in all bedrooms and main room, great patio. Bring your own board games, though!

This place was nice, clean and perfectly located. It’s a short walk to the bay and the beach. We had our young children with us and the short walk was ideal, along with the wagon stored in the garage that made it much easier. The property manager was quick to respond to questions and we appreciated the fact that a Keurig was in the home so we could enjoy our morning and evening coffees. There are take-out restaurants right around the corner (Mexican and Italian), including a market for the necessities. We would definitely stay here again!

Great house and host for our week long trip with 1yo, 3yo, and grandma in tow. Just steps from the bay-side beach which the kids really enjoyed and we had practically to ourselves during the week. And easy walk to ocean-side beach and much of Mission Beach. Plus nice baseline of towels/toys/wagon for beachgoing. House is well setup, front patio is nice space to hang out, and room for everyone, including our Ford Explorer in the garage (with a little confidence you can get any medium 3 row SUV in there, but not a bigger Expedition size).

Steps to the sand! We are locals, so we didn't use the beach toys or ammenities; but super helpful to have chairs, towels, etc if you are traveling from out of town. AC and fans were appreciated during the hot weather we've been having in San Diego. Location really is a great spot in South Mission Beach. Fully equipped kitchen, and market and food in close proximity. We BBQ'd. Having a garage with two parking spots is a must in the summer! Our family had a great stay and would definitely recommend and/or return. Great communication from the owner for check-in, check-out and when we had a couple of minor issues. Great stay at the bay!

This house is absolutely amazing, half block from the bay and 1 block from the ocean. Cute neighborhood and very convenient to have access to 2 car garage. House was immaculate which was important to me during Covid. Any question I had about the house was answered within 30 minutes from the owner, if not sooner. My daughter left her bathing suit behind and the owner even went to UPS to ship it back to us. Would definitely rent here again and was very convienent to have beach gear to use as well. Outdoor patio was great with bistro lights and fire pit.

We loved this property in south Mission Beach. It was so cute, clean and such a wonderful patio, too. The cottage was exactly as the photos shown. The beds & bedding were so comfortable! We walked all over - the beaches and bay. Nice 2 car garage to park in. We walked all over during the day. There is a market and 2 pizzas places & a restaurant close by. We shopped for a few groceries for lunches. We would definitely rent here again. Our family recommends it immensely. 3 generations traveled - Grandma, her daughter and grandson. The best part about this rental, for me at least, was accessibility. It was very challenging trying to find a last minute property that could accommodate my 91 year old grandma (single story, walk in shower, little to no steps) but this place literally hit everything I needed and then some. The close proximity to the bay was perfect for us to take grandma out for walks and just sit and relax. The HUGE garage parking was great for us to get her in and out of the car to drive her to the beach. I was worried I wouldn't have good enough cooking supplies but everything literally looked like it had been just bought. We've been to places where pots/pans/utensils are noticeably used which makes cooking undesirable but our stay here was literally a home away from home. We also have a 1 year old who is sensitive to noise and though this house is within the airport's flight path, we didn't have any issues with putting her to bed. The neighborhood is clean and quiet which was perfect for a relaxing vacation. We will definitely be booking this rental again because everything (location, accessibility, parking, cleanliness, etc) was perfect.

The place inside is really nice. Modern and clean. The location is good but maybe it is just me but not being familiar with the area the pictures gave me the impression that the front area would be looking out to the bay--that you were steps away from the sand. This is actually an alley way with other houses having front porches like this facing each other. Not that it wasn't nice but just not what I thought it was going to be. This house is a block and a half from the cove side beach. Also, probably the most disappointing thing is that there were a lot of flies outside in our porch during the day so we never enjoyed just hanging out. The flies did go away at dark and so we took advantage of the fire pit making s'mores and having a drink then. The flies definitely took away from what I was hoping and expecting to being able to do. Before going back I would make sure that the fly issue is not longer a problem.

Our family stayed here for 5 days and loved it. The house was very clean and host was wonderful to work with. We loved the fact that it was located in a quiet area yet so close to everything, There was a market very close that had everything we needed. The porch was perfect for cooking out and relaxing. Would definitely recommend!

Great place to stay if you want a quiet comfortable stay. Aaron leaves plenty of information about the area and is very responsive to all questions. Love sitting outside by the firepit. Short walk to restaurant, coffee bar, only area store, beach and bay. Great garage so parking not an issue. Can't wait to return.

We had a lovely mini vacation in San Diego and it all started with a wonderful place to stay. “The Beautiful Beach Bungalow” was exactly that ! First and foremost we were struck by the cleanliness of the home, it is well kept and true to the photos. There were 6 adults in our group and we all slept very comfortably.. Having a 3rd bathroom was a wonderful addition. We loved the outdoor shower with warm water so that we could wash off the sand! The location of the home is prime! We had almost immediate access to both the bay and the ocean, and we were just a stroll down the beach from all the fun at Mission Beach. Having a garage and not having to search for parking was also a very big plus. The house is full of thoughtful homey additions and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need for family meals. Finally, the owner was very accessible and consistently provided helpful information. We really loved our stay and we will definitely be returning to the “Beautiful Beach Bungalow”!

We loved our time at this gorgeous bungalow and hope to return again. The bungalow is in a great location, just two blocks (if that) from the beach. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our kids loved the double bunk beds! The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking, although we mostly ordered in and the house comes with all the beach accessories you could want (chairs, sands toys, umbrella, beach wagon etc). There is a small little grocery store just 1/2 block from the place, sea world is a few minutes drive away. Aaron (owner)and Betsy (manager) were great to deal with and made sure we had everything we needed before and after our arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend to family or friends.

This year there were 6 of us ranging from 65 to 11 years of age. Great place. Kitchen was the most fully stocked rental we have seen (I like to cook). Location was perfect between the bay, ocean and near Belmont Park. Aaron was responsive and nice to interact with, took care of all our questions. Will definitely choose this bungalow again.

This was the perfect place for a great vacation. Halfway between beach and bay. The house was equipped with everything you can think of. The layout is great. Beds are super comfy! The fire pit was loved by all! Having laundry was so nice and we didn’t even have to go buy soap. Very helpful! The beach chairs were good ones and not rusted like most others. So nice that the garage fit our midsize suv just fine. We've stayed in so many different houses in San Diego and finally found one we will go back to over and over!

We could not have found a better place to stay! We felt like we were at home the minute we arrived. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, storage. The beds and bedding were top notch. Traveling with two small kids (1 and 4), this home was in the perfect location between bay and ocean, close to shops, coffee, markets, and it was so CLEAN! No clutter or things for little kids to get into (although some board games/activities tucked away in a closet would be an added bonus for cold/rainy days). The bunk room was amazing, and the two other bedrooms were perfect. A lot of storage and a lot of space to spread out inside and outside the house!

The listing description and photos are accurate; if anything they do not do this property justice. The property is clean, very well-maintained, and as I said newly and tastefully remodeled. Aaron's customer service is excellent. He answered my call himself every time so I never had to experience voice-mail purgatory. Incredible. The whole family loved it!!! It is a beautiful home with all the amenities you could ask for. Aaron was great and on top of everything. We have told friends and family all about it and that if they ever went that way for vacation or anything to contact Aaron. We stayed with our 4 children (ages 6,5,3, and 8 months) and two other adults. The cottage was nothing short of perfect! It had everything you could hope for in the kitchen, outdoor areas, beach supplies, huge garage, super clean, functional, pack n' play, just perfect! Our kids loved the bunk beds and the "kid's room" even had a car set and books. Each room with it's own smart TV. Outdoor shower was perfect after our days at the bay and beach. There is a little market really close by that has anything you could possibly need. Really can't reccommend this place enough.

Everything about our stay was perfect! We had a warm welcome to the house. Our kids were on the beach just a few minutes after we arrived. The location is perfect. Kitchen is very well stocked. We really were impressed with this house. It is a gem. We will definitely be back again! Walking distance to the boardwalk , beach and to the bay. Close to the grocery store and restaurant. The beds were very comfortable, and having 2.5 baths is a huge plus for a group of people.

I was traveling with teenagers and needed a safe neighborhood, with things to do. We took advantage of the bay, the beach, local businesses, and the patio. The only thing that was tough was tight streets and parking with a big vehicle. This house has one of the bigger garages you'll find.

I wish we stayed longer! We loved the enclosed outdoor living space for our kids. There was plenty of room for our two small families and my mom. My sister and her 4 kids came over for a beach day and there was even space for them to hang out. It was great to have the choice between bay or ocean side. We loved our stay at the Beach Bungalow! The property is wonderful! It is very updated and great for our crew which was two families and 4 kiddos! A great house in a great location. Beautiful kitchen and living room. Perfect set-up for my family with the room of bunk beds and the two additional bedrooms for adults. We loved the patio area with the gas fire-pit. The garage was a great size compared to other rentals in Mission Beach, and there were lots of extras for the beach - chairs, towels, boogie boards and even a cooler. This house is 5 stars all the way!

We had the most amazing time staying at this sweet beach house. It is the perfect location as everything is within a short walk or bike ride. The home was so clean and there was every kitchen tool or beach item you needed to have a fun and comfortable stay! Our teenagers rented paddle boards nearby and my husband and I spent the day on the very quiet beach. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will definitely be back!

This property was perfect for our visit to Mission Beach! We could walk to both the beach and the bay, the home was beautiful & clean, and the details of outside shower & beach gear were awesome. The owner communicated well & quickly. It was great having a garage! Our Suburban was a tight fit, but it did fit, and that size is the norm for the area. Definitely a place we would stay at again.
