This is a really lovely place within walking distance to the mission bay park. There was an accident happened during the check-in as the battery of the lock ran out of charge, but the hosts were super responsive and kindly offered us a refund for the first day.

I’ve actually had people say that they find the Murphy but to be firm and that makes them happy, but I think at the end of day Murphy beds are actually generally comfortable across the board because they don’t have a whole lot going on they have a flat base and a good mattress and then you’re good to go. Everything was amazing. The only thing we didn’t like was after 10 hours of airplane ride rides upon our arrival, we were met in the driveway by two random dudes, asking us for personal information. We paid for the place we showed up with a code that should be it. You should not harass people after their long travel. 2 dudes asking my wife where she’s staying right when she gets out of the car.. yea let’s just say I almost snapped. Everything else was great.

My husband and I had a lovely stay here. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The host was very helpful. We were told about the Sea World fireworks that could be seen from the roof top nightly but we never made it up there! We really did not spend much time in the place but it suited our needs. We wanted to find a decent place to stay so we could attend our nephew's graduation from UCSD and to be close to San Diego International Airport. It was easy peasy getting to the airport so this was a great location for that. This was our first time to California and we look forward to visiting San Diego again!

I'm a tough critic at times, but this was a great stay! The place looked exactly like the pictures—which is always a bit of a gamble, but this one delivered. The location was ideal, right off the highway, making it easy to get around greater San Diego. There are helpful notes and reminders throughout the unit, which we appreciated. One tip: the check-in instructions can get buried in the emails Airbnb sends, so be sure to star that message for easy access. The driveway is tight fitting a compact car, but street parking just up the road was safe, easy, and very close. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved the thoughtful touches like K-cups, shampoo/conditioner, and the fun mini putt-putt area out back! The listing mentioned the fridge would be stocked with water, beer, and soda, but that wasn’t really the case when we arrived—not a big deal for us, but worth mentioning for future guests. Overall, I highly recommend this unit and would absolutely stay here again! Loved it!

Had a good stay at this rental studio. The place was clean and well set up with good amenities. Unfortunately, we had to keep all the door & window blinds closed for privacy, especially during daytime when there was maintenance work being done, which made it difficult to get natural light. That said, the great location and rooftop deck more than made up for this inconvenience.

My husband and toddler came to San Diego for a family vacation to visit some favorite places. This location was close to everything we were trying to visit. The host was flexible with us and accommodated our change of plans. The construction was tough to navigate with our toddler and I could hear other guests talking through the walls. Would be better for just a couple to stay here without any young kids.

While this property is great for kids (often times my daughters and nephew come down the street to visit my mom (their grandmother and onsite host) and they love to make friends with the guests that visit, it is still a shred space with all that comes with that. This was a great spot in the middle of San Diego close to everything and very clean and informative of things to do in the area. I highly recommend staying here! Host was very accommodating to our circumstances when we lost 1 day of stay due to a cancelled flight and offered and extra day to stay at the place.

The room we rented was very nice and comfortable. The location was perfect for us since our son lived in the neighborhood, and it is convenient to the Interstate and the San Diego Trolley. Parking onsite is limited to small vehicles. The propery was very clean and everything worked. Being able to call the owner when we had questions was an added benefit throughout our stay. We also noted updates are ongoing on the property. The sunset over Mission Bay was beautiful from the roof top terrace. We will consider staying here again in the future.

This location turned out to be absolutely perfect for my husband and I! It was close to MCRD SD and everything else we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower had good pressure so we were set for our stay. I only wish we would have gotten a heads up that there were some renovations or something going on so we wouldn’t have been surprised by all the boxes, etc. that were cluttering up the patio. Definitely not a deal breaker, just would have been a nice to know.

Very nice place that was private and secure. The slotted parking space will only fit a car or small SUV. The patio with the bbq is under construction, so if that’s what you want, make sure it’s been completed. The roof top patio was great to watch the sunsets. Trolley is only a few blocks away for added convenience to make it to old town or downtown if you don’t want to drive. It’s a small studio, but it has so many things to use for the kitchen, etc which was helpful. Hosts were very friendly and helpful if anything was needed.

First off, the photos of the property don't really do it justice; it was so beautiful, bright, and airy and we loved it. The layout works well, the Murphy bed is very comfortable and folds away easily during the day, and the kitchen is well-stocked. Spacious bathroom with excellent hot water and pressure, and we used the washer/dryer unit several times with no problems. The location suffers a touch from a lack of walkability (in terms of walkable stores and restaurants), but it more than makes up for it in convenience; it is central to pretty much anything, made getting around much quicker and easier than our previous stays in Ocean Beach and North Pacific Beach. In addition, the rooftop deck gives stunning views that make for a wonderfully relaxing evening (and for a rooftop breakfast with a view!). Although not advertised specifically as pet-friendly, we did request permission to bring our two elderly small dogs (pug and shih tzu), as we do not board them due to their advanced age and medical needs. The host graciously agreed (with a reasonable pet deposit), and the space worked perfect for this; the yard is fully fenced and with enough space for small dogs to feel comfortable. Finally, don't miss out on the chance to spend a little time with the on-site hosts Kathy and John; they won't bother you, but they are absolutely delightful, friendly, and wonderfully colorful! We so much enjoyed talking with them that we took every opportunity that presented itself to do so. Both the owner (Aaron) as well as Kathy and John were very LGBTQ-friendly and supportive (I know that most people consider this a given in San Diego, but that is not necessarily the case). All in all a perfect vacation option, and we will definitely be back!

Perfect for a couple! We stayed for our Anniversary and had a wonderful stay. Hosts were attentive but gave us our privacy. Great king size Murphy bed. Not too soft, not too firm, just right. With lots of pillows! They had all the perfect amenities. The shower was the best with two shower heads high enough with several inches to spare for my 6’3” husband, and enough room for two! The kitchen had everything you need to cook! They had Roku TV streaming and two nice recliner chairs to relax in. We also took a nap on and enjoyed the sunset from their rooftop deck! Very nice place in a great convenient location. So close to everything in San Diego. Would definitely be back here if in town again!

I'm used to rental properties being stingy with their amenities, but Kathy and John are the opposite. Everything there was nice quality - the towels, the bed, the linens, even the outdoor furniture (which is usually in poor quality at other rentals) is in great shape here. You can tell they really care about this location and want to be as hospitable as possible to make sure the guest has a nice stay. The location has amazing views of Mission Bay, and unobstructed views of the Sea World fireworks. I definitely recommend this location!

I was in San Diego for a work conference, the hotel where the conference was at ran out of the reduced conference rate. This unfortunate situation led me to this VRBO. I’m quite glad we ended up at this property instead of the over priced hotel. We had a great time at this location, it is very easy to locate, the second floor shared deck has an amazing view of Mission Beach. The property owner and his parents who help him with this property were very accommodating. We were very happy with our stay and we would recommend this property.

We enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful, clean and perfect for 2. We wish it was walkable to the beach or restaurants. The patio was great for eating and relaxing. The bed was too soft for us both so sleeping was a challenge. There is no bedroom so the Murphy bed takes up a lot of the living space. We left it out to have a comfortable place to watch tv. This is the cutest little place! It was clean, comfortable, and we actually enjoyed staying in!! The property is well maintained and very welcoming. Loved the upper deck! Host communication was on point! Would definitely suggest this property!!

This property is perfect for attending a Padre baseball game as the Claremont Trolley Station is only a short walk away. It is also very convenient to everything in Mission Bay. The studio is immaculate & well equipped. Enjoyed spending time in the patio area & also the upper deck.

This place was in a great location and within 15 minutes from anything you'd want to do in San Diego. The views were as advertised and the check-in process was super easy. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

I REALLY ENJOYED KATHY AND JOHN! They are my new grandparents! They sweet, kind, genuine, giving and spitfires! I came to SD all alone and they did a great job making sure I was well taken care of. The property itself was amazing. Just like the description. I stayed in the smaller studio and it was clean, comfortable and cozy. Kathy took me grocery shopping to get everything I needed. The little kitchenette set up was great. You have all the appliances you'll need including a couple extras (I loved the cappuccino maker!) The washer and dryer being in the unit is definitely a plus. The sky deck on the roof has a great view of the Bay. You're literally five minutes away from it! I would recommend this studio to anyone. I can't wait to come back. This cute little space was perfect for my husband and I. The outdoor space was amazing and we enjoyed the Sea World fireworks from the rooftop deck. The hostess was very kind and accommodating. The location is perfect in proximity to all kinds of activities that you could want to do with easy access the a main freeway.

My wife and I had a lovely time, the room was very clean and well decorated. Communication was clear and responsive; we had a blast exploring the sites. It was nice to rest on a comfy bed after a long day of site seeing. We will definitely come again if we are ever in town!

Overall the stay was good. We had trouble opening the front door using the code. We were finally able to enter the property. They pictures advised there was a grill, but unfortunately they had torn it down to rebuild. Also the water in the shower could have been hotter. Our family enjoyed a funfilled week in this beauitiful city, taking in all the sights. Staying here was a great decision and made our trip much much more relaxing and enjoyable. We had a great stay in San Diego staying at Kathy and John's studio. The view from the roof top patio is fabulous and its so close to all of the local attractions. We went to the beach, sea world, San Diego Zoo and a Padres game in 4 days. Kathy and John had lots of fun things for us to borrow to go to the beach with towels, chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. Dont miss out on a great ball park in downtown Pet Co Park tickets on the grassy hill are only $5! And not many people go so you can seat hop if you like.

Kathy was just the sweetest hostess anyone could ask for! She picked us up from the airport and recommended all the best places in the area. The studio was perfect for us and had everything we needed! Will definitely contact her again next time!

My husband and I really enjoyed our 4-night stay in unit #101. The space was designed with attention to detail and the nautical decor made it very appealing. The studio was clean, comfortable, and convenient to everything. Kathy and John were exceptional hosts going above and beyond in making sure we had everything we needed.

We had a very nice experience staying at studio 101, which is the smaller of their two studios. The studio was very clean and comfortable which was important to us. The owners are wonderful! They were kind and very helpful when we asked them questions about the area, recommending places to eat and things to do. They really do make you feel like you’re a friend, not just a tenant ?. The room is decorated nicely and they keep little things here and there in case you forget something from home (toothbrushes and things like that). They even have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower so you don’t have to take any if you don’t want to. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone. It beats getting a hotel and the location is perfect! We were able to get to places quickly and easily. Thanks John and Kathy for a wonderful experience!

friend & I have travelled all over the world and Kathy & John are definitely some of the nicest, genuine and helpful people we have ever meet. As 2 people that never had driven in the US or driven an automatic, Kathy spent one evening with us nearby San Diego harbour helping us get accustomed to the car, driving on the other side of the road & all the while telling us stories from the locality. John took us out sailing around the harbour another day where we got very up close the navy shipyard and Naval boats whizzing by. They saved us expense ferrying us to and from SeaWorld and to Tijuana to one of the nicest restaurants that you could hope to find. Some how they managed to do this without ever encroaching on the holiday. Meeting them & spending the little time we did with them one of the highlights of a holiday that was jammed pack with fantastic points. This review does not do their generosity and kindness the full justice the deserve. Thee best advice I can offer is to stay with them & find out for yourself. Thanks Kathy and John. We miss you :-)

Very nice time at this convenient, clean apartment. Kathy and John are very welcoming and provide many extras that make the stay comfortable, including a nice rooftop from which we watched fireworks on the 4th of July. Great place to stay.

Fantastic unit with all the amenities. Wife and I stayed 5 nights. Great upper deck with views of MB. Many extras and kit equip. Beach towels and items avail. Large outdoor patio and BBQ. Close to all! Non-smoking. A/C, ceil fan and heater in unit. refri, Wash & dryer in unit. Freezer on site. free parking space. 2 units avail, owners live upstairs. Owners very helpful. We brought our own coffee as there is espresso machine. Close to grocery store and fast food. Already referred to family. Thanks for all Kathy and John!

Kathy is a great host and was very accommodating to my husband and me, especially when we had an unforseen last-minute schedule change. She was very easy to work with. The unit itself is lovingly cared for. You can tell Kathy and John paid special attention to deatils throught the unit: the shower head was wonderful, the bed was pillow soft, they left robes for guests as well as plenty of beach gear for a day in the sun. The fridge was stocked and the kitchen in the unit was really useful. Overall, just wanted to say "thanks" to Kathy and John for an enjoyable visit.

We definitely picked a great place to stay. It was so cozy and cute. The view is beautiful on the top of the balcony.You are walking distance to Mission Bay. Amazing holiday- John and Cathy were the most lovely welcoming people I have ever met. Nothing we asked of them was too much trouble, and they were excellent in showing us the area and also teaching us to drive! These hosts really do go above and beyond to ensure your stay is the best. They have such a wonderful family which we loved spending time watching the super bowl with. The apartment itself is in a great location and is clean and tidy. We will hope you visit again in the future!

We truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely studio apartment. Kathy is an excellent host. Anything you need she will get it for you. Rooftop patio was my favorite spot for my morning coffee. Lovely sunsets as well.

Great little place, easily sleeps 2. Bed is a bit soft for me, but very nice bed and linens. They are very good at providing the little extras, like sewing kit, coffee, even cream for a frothing machine they provide. I'd stay again.

This was the perfect location for our stay in San Diego. Close to airport, beaches, Gaslamp Quarter, and other spots. The studio was very clean and had any extra items we needed. The murphy bed was a bit more firm than we generally prefer, but we saw and did so much we easily overlooked this. We would stay here again.

Every possible convenience to make your stay comfortable has been provided! Soft linens, comfortable bed, & chairs, appliances to cook in, coffee maker and coffee, tea pot, washer, dryer, Beachy decor, quiet and relaxing. Our hosts contacted us while on the road so they would be there to greet us and settle us in. A perfect weekend stay! We will recommend and be back ourselves.
