Sunny Mission Beach house steps to Ocean Bay

Was looking for a place that my teenage grandchildren could enjoy themselves and I could have a relaxing time watching them. Everything was so convenient such restaurants, water sports etc. It was a great place for them to chill out and then go exploring. I just enjoyed the convenience of the place extra bathrooms, comfy sofa two showers. Great pace Thanks

What a lovely place and amazing location! We had a wonderful stay at Aaron's place. It was clean, comfortable, spacious and all around superb. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom loft was nicely private. The beach equipment was a great perk too. Aaron was delightful to work with and check in and check out were a breeze. This is a nice house in a great area only one block from the ocean and Mission Bay. Very walkable neighborhood with lots of unique shops and restaurants. We would recommend staying here.

Location, location, location! Perfectly located between Mission Bay and Pacific Beach, easy walk to both. Close to countless restaurants and in particular literally 2 doors down from the Mission Cafe and their incredible breakfasts! We stayed here because we left our house due to wildfires. The hosts accommodated us on short notice and were very responsive to messages. Overall the place was comfortable and in a great location! We enjoyed walking on the boardwalk daily. As parents, we also appreciated the bunk bed room being two floors below the master! Thanks for a great stay!

We recently stayed at this charming three-level rental and had a wonderful experience overall. The property is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Wonderful stay in a beautiful area! The home had a beautiful blend between modern and beach house charm. I greatly appreciated the pet friendliness of the stay as well - our dog loved it! Garage parking was great and easy. So nice to have as there is not much street parking. I was also able to check in an hour early which was helpful. After booking, I was sent a separate website to read from Vacation Rentals by Aaron. After arriving, there was an additional set of written instructions placed on a table for my pet. This was a bit confusing to have three sets of instructions to parse as they all had some differences. I recommend putting all the writing upfront in the AirBnB house rules so there’s no confusion/anxiety later on in the process.

Vanessa, thanks for the kind review. We do list the measurements of the garage on the ad (and recommend a small/short car to make it easier to use). WiFi was simply a matter of someone having unplugged the downstairs mesh hub so that was rectified. Say hello to one of the most pristine locations in mission Blvd. Steps away from mission beach and a quieter mission bay is even closer. Garage is a luxury and comes with a nice assortment of beach toys and umbrellas. Aaron is extremely friendly and helped me out with a booking issue, highly recommend.

Location, location, location!! this place sits right between two beaches that are walking distance. pros: Great location has a lot of space clean beach stuff available clean linen cons: a lot of flies and Nats. I know they can't do much about it, but it definitely was an issue. men's underwear in one of the cabinets and pubes left in the trashcan upstairs garage is small and had trouble getting the rental van in it, but was finally able to get in in between the cabinet and the washer/ dryer. internet was spotty very loud around the location. the master room is in the loft and there are tons of skylights that shine right on the head space of the bed early morning. no ac in the bottom room so the kids slept in the living room All in all, it was a good place and now that I know what to expect, I would consider going back back it's pretty pricey.

George, thank you for your review. You're right about flies and the beach; there's not much we can do there as they go hand-in-hand. But we've added fly traps to the lids in the garbage bins. I'm sorry about the clothing left behind from a previous guest; that should not have happened and we will bring it up with our cleaner. Glad you loved the location, as it is indeed tough to beat! Next time, please mention the internet issue during your stay and we'll be happy to troubleshoot with you. My family and 2 young children enjoyed our stay here. The location of this place was fantastic - walking distance to the bay and ocean; 2 min drive to Ralph’s; and great restaurants and coffee shops around the corner. As another reviewer pointed out, I wouldn’t get a large SUV as it may not fit under the garage. I didn’t have this issue but just wanted you all to be aware. This place had everything we needed for the beach! They also had an air fryer which was a plus! The place was easy to find and there were several emails/texts prior to our arrival which I appreciated. Overall, I’d recommend this place to others!

Everything was clean and lot of amenities. The only thing I would say is that don’t expect the downstairs room to be as big as it seems. It’s small and it’s the downstairs room. The other bedroom is in the third floor and it’s a loft. You can hear the downstairs and the upstairs. You either have noise in either room. The bunkbed room that seems to be for children it doesn’t have a TV but other than that I’ll give it a 5 stars. They have a loaded kitchen, garage, washer and dryer. Your own new kitchen sponge.. I would stay there again!!

We had a fantastic time here! I found this Airbnb to be super well cleaned. Everything worked well and it was so nice having the outdoor shower to clean off after the quick walk back from the beach. I would suggest not getting larger than a midsize sedan for the garage. the sizes discussed in the description, but I saw that someone else was not satisfied based on not fitting a bigger vehicle in there. I appreciated all the beach supplies provided, including sand toys, multiple chairs, and a couple boogie boards. One thing worth mentioning is the railing on the top master. The gaps were a bit wide. I traveled with a crawling baby, so I just had to keep him from that edge. It ended up not being an issue at all for us- but something that might be worth considering. There are lots of things that are walkable and endless amounts of things that are w/in a 15-20 min drive. Check in/ out was effortless and Aaron was very fast to communicate. I was very satisfied with this rental. Thx!

The house is in a great location close to lots of things. It’s also decently quiet for how close to the main road and beach it is. However parking was a pain. We have a normal size suv and it did not fit in the garage space so we ended up having to find parking elsewhere which was very hard or expensive. I would not recommend this house if you have a SUV/truck or taller vehicle. We paid over $200 to park.

LOCATION! The house is in a GREAT location. We did a ton of walking as we have teens who like to explore new places. We were steps from the bay, beach, and boardwalk. There are TONS of restaurants within walking distance - two of our favorites were Guava Beach Bar & Grill and Dirty Birds. There is a lot to see within a 20 minute drive in either direction also. This rental also has a washer and dryer with detergent pods and dryer sheets, which was SO convenient. The rental company was very responsive when contacted with questions. They also allowed us to store our luggage for a couple hours after checkout. My ONLY suggestions for improvement is to remove the carpet from the stairs & do a deep clean. There was a smell of mildew when we first entered, which appeared to be coming from the stairs. I assume it’s from prior renters walking in without drying off. There were also some areas that could have been cleaned a bit better. However, neither of these two things were a deal breaker.

Very nice location. The access to the bay and the beach are less tha a 5 minute walk. There are restaurants and coffee shops. Overal nice place, the kitchen was clean. I was thrown off that there weren't essentials like salt and pepper, but we bought some seasoning and left it behind for he next guests. It was really nice to have a washer/dryer. The cleanliness could be improved.

The beds were comfortable and we all enjoyed having our own space but still feeling connected because of the loft style main bedroom on the 3rd floor. We would stay here again!

We loved our stay here. The garage is a huge bonus especially for how tricky parking can be in Mission Beach on a holiday weekend. The house feels spacious and was exactly what we needed for the weekend with my family. The host was extremely helpful, responsive and friendly. I hope to stay here again soon!

The home was a decent last minute option for us in lieu of two rooms at the catamaran hotel. The location was great because the kids could walk a few shorts steps to the bay, or cross the street to the ocean side. The only issues i had were that my stock ram 1500 was too tall for the garage, so i had to find parking a ways down the street, which was inconvenient. The main bedroom (of 2) had little privacy because of the loft design. The 3 floors of stairs were really dirty, but understandable at a beach house. We wore sandals inside because of that. Other than those issues, the home was comfortable and clean. It was nice to have AC, as not all beach houses have it. I would recommend this home, but not sure I'd choose it over some other options out there. The host was responsive and friendly.

The location of the home was great! Easy to book, easy in an out! Aaron was great to work with! the only things I would recommend would be more dish wear ( glass ware in particular ) and to make sure the BBQ is clean prior to anyone checking in. Also a better vacuum considering sand is every where with kids no matter how much you rinse them off before hand! My family and I had a great time!

Great location great communication. Be careful. The garage is very very small but you can put a car in there. I will definitely be back. They did little things like coffee and towels and beach toys as well. A little extras meant a lot.

This place was awesome especially for somewhere that allows dogs. It was clean, stocked, and room enough for my family of 5 plus 2 dogs. The property management was super helpful and accessible. Being able to take the dogs to the bay or the beach on a simple walk was priceless! You are tucked in enough from the street that it isn't too noisy but yet you are right by all the good restaurants and coffee shops. We would love to return!

We really loved our stay. The house had great amenities and was really nice inside. The location really can’t be beat, close to the bay and the beach. It’s also awesome to have a garage for your car—make sure to note that it really can’t fit bigger than a small SUV. Our car fit perfectly. My seven year old loved his room with a bunk bed and his own bathroom and the master, especially the bathroom, is beautiful. Thank you for a really wonderful house for our trip!

The place was well kept and we had a great stay. Upstairs bathroom had a slightly unpleasant smell. We got there in the middle of the stormiest week and had some trouble with downspouts and power to the water heater got shut off. The homeowner worked with us and we were able to run an extension cord

Fantastic rental! Super close to both the bay and the beach. Even though we were close to Mission Blvd...shortest walk we’ve ever had to Bayside Walk. Made it easy to run back for more beach gear. We had a great time!

Had a weeks vaca with my folks who were visiting and it was great. Lots of space, comfy sleeping and also great kitchen to hang in and lovely front room with fireplace to relax in. The location was unbelievable, the oven one block one way and the bay one block the other way. And also a great taco shop 100 yards walk.

The house is situated a block from beach and from the bay. It’s a beautiful setting. The garage is probably only 6 feet tall in height so i would only rec a sedan park in there. We had a dodge ram truck which wouldn’t fit but Aaron was helpful in letting us park in their business spot at night because street pkg is difficult to find. We were very grateful for his help and communication

This was such a unique property. I layed in bed and saw the full moon through the sky light. Woke up to the sun coming theough the small window. Sat by the fireplace for tea in the sun in the mornings. The architecture was unique and fantastic. The garage was fantastic to have. Could walk to great restaurants. Plus could walk easily to the bay and beach. Ill definitely be back. Absolutely fantastic time.

PROS * Clean (with one exception) * Owners were excellent at communication * Baby crib * Patio areas' doors can be secured shut. * Electric touch lock makes it easy to access and no fears of losing keys at the beach * Steps to the Bay or Beach CONS * As this is a tri-level, you cannot avoid stairs. (seniors, senior dogs, young children, people with physical disabilities and anyone carrying luggage, groceries, etc.) * Top bunk bed duvet was stained * Garage height and length is SHORT. Just **barely** fits a mini-van (pacifica) but you can't open the hatch. Don't think about 2 cars. You can squeeze them in if you turn the side mirrors in but you literally can't walk between them, much less jump in to go out and about without removing both vehicles. * The lane you turn from/into while parking is very tight and there was a work truck right next door all the time blocking the lane. * Ground floor bedroom and bath were freezing. We ended up using the space heaters from the closet, but with children and dogs, did not dare use them unless an adult was in the room. So we had to be cold when we first went to bed. * The 2nd floor was pretty cold too but once we got the fireplace and heater on, it was okay. SUGGESTIONS * Tell renters they may want to bring (or provide) 2 removeable baby gates (2nd floor top of stairs, 2nd floor bottom of stairs) and avoid letting children on the 3rd floor at all as it is a loft bedroom. * The Bay side was a let down for our family (not enough sunshine and not much area to play in sand without a giant sand wall in front of your view) but the beach side was great. * Fireplace turns on gas with key and you'll need to manually light it. This could easily be dangerous. Key CAN be removed so kids don't fiddle with it. * A labelled map of the small side streets and the main street so you know exactly where the house is because the 'street' it is on is not the one where you park. Finding the right alley took us a couple tries and some one way streets. Directions were not super helpful until we decoded them but at that point we'd figured it out. Overall, we would definitely rent here again but have to come up with a parking strategy because the on-street looked like we'd lose a mirror and the paid parking was way pricey. And we'd bring baby/dog gates.

We've stayed in this area before and really like the close proximity to the bay, ocean and restaurants. Aaron was very responsive and had the place well stocked. Very clean and pretty quiet..people wise. Street noise can be obnoxious at times, which is hard to get away from anywhere near Mission Blvd. The one surprise was the recently built house next to the parking lot that does block any view to the west. Otherwise, I would definitely stay here again.
