There isn’t a better unit of this caliber for the price it cost! This unit was barely a walk to the beach! Can hear the waves crashing with the window open at night. Very spacious with full kitchen living room and bedroom. I would have spent more time in the unit but I was too close to the beach to not head that way! Overall I would recommend this place if you like to start and end your day at the beach or you are looking for a peaceful getaway in a rad town with lots to do. Honorable mention was the parking! It is almost impossible to find street parking in Ocean Beach so the included spot was the icing on the cake for me!

Fantastic location, maybe two minutes of walking to the beach. Everything that you'd want, well equipped kitchen, good internet speed. Laundry is in the yard of the larger house, but works well after 3 pm. Great place to hang out by the beach the local spots

Overall, my stay was good. You cannot beat the location to the dog beach. However, there are a few things renters should know, that is not well described in the listing........ *The washer and dryer are not logistically available. You are restricted from using the washer/dryer from 9am-3pm (not in the public listing). The location of the washer/dryer is outside and on the patio of the house next door. Imagine if you want to wash clothes in the morning you have to start no later than 7:30am and disturb the neighbors having coffee and playing with their 3 dogs (in my experience) on their patio. Same goes for late afternoon. *There is a parking space and it does fit a larger car. However, in my experience, my Tahoe could not get in and out when the renting neighbors had both their cars in the adjacent parking space. *There is only a A/C/Heater wall unit in the bedroom and does not heat (my stay was in late Dec) the entire place. Space heater is provided.

I had a lovely time in the little beach house. It was a bit difficult to find as it is at the back end of the property on the main street. But it is super close to the beach and has all the amenities you need. Also good price point for the area.

Great place to stay right near dog beach. Walking to the beach was easy. The location was also near many restaurants within walking distance and walking distance from downtown OB. Great place for dogs and the small yard was a bonus. The hosts were very responsive.

First I have to say I loved OB it is a special place. We took our dog to the beach everyday, before 9am and after 6pm they can go on the regular beach too not just “dog beach” Also I felt really safe, the life guards did an amazing job and I love going to a beach and knowing someone is looking out for our safety. Now our casita (guest house) was not perfect and unfortunately with how much I love OB I would not stay here again. They had some key issues that could be resolved if they updated the furniture and got a quality mattress and a new couch. The bed was SO uncomfortable. I had a hard time staying asleep. The frame is cheap and the mattress was so thin and unsupportive. The couch was also bad. A thin and small couch, not comfortable. Your head literally hits the wall behind it when sitting down. Also, I understand pet friendly means dogs hair but it was so dirty. Every surface and pillow was caked in dog hair. Since everyone pays a pet fee, please clean it up more between guest. Ty

The location was perfect for accessing the beach and restaurants. It also had beach chairs, beach umbrella and a boogie board we were able to use for convenience. I wish we had access to a broom, extra beach towels, a spatula and conditioner (minor inconveniences). We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back with our pup.

We loved staying here! The convenience of walking only 4 minutes to the beach was so nice. We took our dog to the dog beach for the first time ever and loved every second of it. I love how there’s a hose in the front to wash the sand off and the home its self is SO adorable. The check in process was easy to understand, as well as all of the other house info! Gorgeous cozy cottage in the perfect OB location! Having the unit AC in the bedroom was def well used and needed. Only thing I'd say I wish it had was taller fencing all around vs just half; there were kids next door in the main house and it was kind of uncomfortable since we were just a young couple. But other than that, it was great!

We loved our stay. The family in the main residence was really thoughtful about our privacy, but also willing to talk and connect. They even have a dog who is super sweet and great with new friends. The fenced in area was great for our dog. Even though it was really rainy while we were there the beach was fun to head to and just a couple houses away. Parking is easy and the location is easy to get to. The neighborhood is full of friendly people and the beach is active, but there’s plenty of space to hang out with your dog. Everyone’s good at staying leashed up too. There will be lots of airplane noise, but that’s 90% of San Diego. There’s plenty of great food within a 20 min drive. Kara is very good at communicating and proactive at helping out. The stay is well kept and clean. The small things like water filters, lots of towels, plenty of toiletries, boogie boards/chairs, etc. make the difference. Definitely would recommend this place and come again!

It was perfect for what I needed which was a place for my son and I to stay for a week after he moved out of dorm until his apartment was ready. It’s definitely rustic but not in a bad way. I’d call it quaint. Can walk to everything beach, food, markets, shopping. There is one bedroom with a Queen and a queen inflatable mattress that we used in living room. Laundry in courtyard and parking which is a must in OB. A Keurig and coffee pods was a nice surprise. We even got access to unit early which was great. I’d stay there again.

My family had an amazing stay over the Christmas holiday. We rented out both properties so that my husband and I and our reactive dog stayed in the smaller guest house and the rest of the family stayed in the main home on the same property. It was such a perfect situation where we never felt over cramped and everyone had the right amount of togetherness and privacy as needed. Dog beach is a minute walk away and it was wonderful to wake up early and take the dog to the beach to play in the ocean, especially because he has only ever known the deserts of the Southwest. Magical.We also couldn't stop talking about how all the kitchen appliances were well maintained and well appointed, which almost never happens with vacation rentals. Thank you so much for the perfect holiday setting! We will be back.

We had a great time over the weekend. This cute little place was very relaxing and enabled us to unwind without interruption. We felt like we got our money's worth. We would like to see what the area's like when there's not a pandemic going on. It's a very short walk to Ocean Beach, which has terrific waves and a really long fishing pier. We brought food for two days with us, so the lack of nearby dining options didn't matter (many things being closed due to the pandemic). The kitchen was well equipped and worked great for us.

We loved the location! This is a perfect short walk to the beach which worked out perfect as we brought our infant child with us, and wanted to be close by if he had a meltdown. Only two critiques that I want to convey for future renters. First, we intentionally rented a house that advertised having Air Conditioner. Upon arriving, we found that there wasn't actually an A/C and it was recommended that we use fans per the instructions on the fridge. This would typically be a non-issue, but with an infant we want to be able to regulate the temperature without outside variables. During the day it would get a little warm, and during the night it would get a little cold. Again, as grown adults, we were fine, but with the little one, we had to make adjustments to accommodate the right temps for him. The second minor issue is that our son has toy time on the floor and it's important that it's a clean surface. We always put a blanket down, but sometimes he crawls off the blanket before we can catch him. As a result, we always keep the floor around the play area as clean as possible. Just to be careful, we brought our own swiffer sweeper to make sure it was clean. After doing one pass through with the swiffer of a 10sq/ft area, the swiffer pad was completely black. It took four more swiffer pads to get the floor to a manageable place where we semi-comfortable with him rolling around. Again, we aren't the types that usually care, but no idea what or whose dirt caked the floor and wanted to be cautious. Other than those two instances we had an awesome time and absolutely loved the location.

Cottage was cute and comfortable. Location couldn't have been better! Quiet neighborhood, but just minutes from the beach. Fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room. Queen bed okay but very soft. One big problem was with dogs in the adjoining house. The patios are not separated, and the dogs in the adjoining house came into our patio to "do their business". The dogs also would walk into our house, since the door needs to stay open in the living room and bedroom to let air in. I would suggest a fence between the two properties for privacy and to avoid the dog problems. This happened with two families that stayed in the adjoining house. Unfortunately I would not stay here again until this problem was addressed. Other than that, a great place to stay.

Overall, very easy and pleasant. A few bugs due to poor insulation, but kind of gave it a beach “glamping” feel. Bed should be replaced, in our opinion, but the space was comfortable otherwise. Easy communication and very accommodating host. Prime location. Would stay again.

The cottage is 2 minutes from the ocean & 5 min to the dog beach. The grounds were clean & the home very welcoming. Perfect fit for a family of 4 & a dog!

Quaint little beach cottage 1/2 block to the beach and the dog beach. Walk to the restaurants and shops. Has everything you need. You do hear the planes go over starting early morning but it’s not that bad. Aaron was very communicative.

Super cute and very close to the beach which was the main reason for our visit. Walking distance to Newport Ave where most of the restaurants and shops are. Having a parking spot is a huge plus!

The property was perfect for what we needed. It is close to the beach and since we had our dog with us, the enclosed courtyard was perfect. Having your own parking spot is very helpful. We will definately be back

Cute little bungalow just steps from Ocean Beach’s dog beach area as well as the business district of funky OB. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with all the tools and utensils one would need. It’s tiny with a small refrigerator and no dishwasher but it is completely functional to make simple meals. Great to have off street parking for two cars in an area where parking can be impossible to find so a huge bonus there. Owner is extremely responsive and answers questions and requests very quickly.

What a great couple if weeks! Bedroom way bigger than photos show. Overall, perfect for us and Freddie the dog. Bbq'd outside a few times, borrowed the beach chairs MANY times. Had family over for bday dinner on the patio. Easy and fast communication with Aaron. Locations n perfect. I could go on and on....but will let you discover it for yourself.

This was our first visit to San Diego and this little place turned out to be the ideal base camp. It was clean, comfortable and the ideal location for getting out and exploring the area as well as walking down to the beach. The kitchen had just about everything we needed to put together breakfast and snacks while we were there. The weather wasn’t great while we were in town but if it had been we would have gotten great use out of the bbq grill and patio area too.

This location is the best we've had in Ocean Beach. Two parking spaces in the alley, private gate to the rental, all the amenities you need for a nice stay at the beach--towels, beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys are all there! Washer/dryer to use in the courtyard, patio area, kitchen is perfect with a full-size fridge. Perfect for two adults! You will not be disappointed! Aaron is communicative and responsive. We hope to be luck enough to get this place again in the future.

This was our first trip to San Diego and our first trip with our 10 month old daughter. The location is absolutely amazing, literally steps from the beach and the main strip in Ocean Beach with many restaurants. There was a crib and high chair for us to use which was very convienient. All the necessary beach items - chairs, umbrella, toys, towels. Lovely outdoor space. The beaches are incredible in this area. Definitely recommend staying here!

Perfectly situated between the two main areas with restaurants in OB. If the temps are in mid-80s or above, beware that the A/C only covers the bedroom area. We came during a heatwave and the living area got very warm. It was an unprecedented heatwave, so I don't blame the owner.

This house was super cute, on the small side, but plenty of space for my husband and I, along with our furbaby. The house was very clean, and we even got notice that we could check in early. Though, we were driving from out of state, so we didn't get there early. Location was great, within walking distance of so many great food options! And, dog beach was about a 5 minute walk, which we did often. It was really warm when we were there, but there was an A/C unit that really made it comfortable. Aaron was very responsive when we reached out to him, and was always very kind. If you stay here, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

It was a nice location. Smaller than I thought. It was pretty cold because the space doesn’t have central heating just a small portable one that only really kept the bedroom warm. But the amenities were nice. There’s a few things that should get checked out like the bathroom fan makes a horrible noise when it’s running and they should probably treat the space for insects. Over the four days that I was there I counted 7 different spiders in the space. Also there isn’t a lot of privacy. You can see right into the space from the kitchen windows. It was a little creepy at night. But other than that it was cute.

Overall, good location to the beach and dog beach (one block away). Responsive property manager. Walking distance to restaurants. The bungalow was cozy and perfect for two people and a dog. However, bathroom ceiling vent needs to be fixed (extremely loud when you turn it on), and just be aware of the homeless traffic in the alley but we felt safe (adding a lock to the outside gate might be helpful). In general, it was very relaxing.
